I wouldn't be surprised if the ability to customize MBs for a fee ends up in MDE at some point in the future so you can get them sent with your package. Actually not offering that ability would be a failure by the project team IMO.

I love this. Maximize the want for customization of everything. Of course they will charge you but hey people pay it. Until someone isn't willing to pay it this will be the overall Disney model.

I'm arriving Dec 5, I've been holding off customizing my band to see if a purple comes out. I have every other color so otherwise I will just decline it if it's not available.

So I wonder if we can only get the purple band by getting and paying for a customizable band, or if we will be able to choose a plain purple band for free in MDE, as we can do now, with all the other colors?

Oooh, I'd love to have a nice customised one, especially as it looks like I'll be there for two weeks in both August 2016 and August 2017. Didn't want to spring extra for a special band last time as I didn't think we'd be returning, but knowing I'd get 4 weeks wear out of one, I'd be up for that!

Nothing in that article suggests that the default options when ordering them with a reservation will change. I suspect that this will be like the other magic bands sold on property - you have to pay $20 each for them. I don't think that Disney is going to give away what they can sell.

I can't remember for certain but I'm pretty sure the purple option will only be one of the customized, make it yourself options, not one you can select before your trip
