Custom Park Maps question

Hi everyone,

Back on our first and only trip in 2008 I was able to order custom maps of the parks before our trip. In anticipation of our upcoming fall trip I have dug these out from the bag of things that we're never put into a scrapbook. My DS (6yo) LOVES these. They actually look a bit like pirate maps because of the color scheme, which I think adds to the appeal. He is definitely a DISer in the making and has been using these maps to plan how he wants us to tour each park. The thing is, they are more than a little out of date, especially with the changes in MK since 2008.

Does anyone know if you can still order these? I know that there are maps in the app on the iPad, but there is something very sweet about a little boy lying on the floor with a big old paper map.

Hi! Yes, you can still order them. You can order a set every 6 months. I just got mine Friday. I think they took a little over a week to arrive after I ordered them.

Yep! I think there's an option for them if you scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page on the website. They're pretty neat. It has you choose all the rides/attractions that are of interest and it customizes them with that info. It also has our last name on them. I was thinking of framing them, but they come printed on both sides. So MK is on one side and Epcot is on the other. Same with AK and DHS. They're really pretty though.

We received an email a couple of weeks ago with a link to make them. Are you going soon? I would assume that everyone staying on property would get this email. We've done this every year and have always gone with the classic design (like the one the OP mentioned) but this year I went with the characters. Can't wait to get them in the mail!

Yes, over the years I have ordered them a few times and now have all 5 framed and hanging in our home office. There are 5 due to one being of the entire world. I love that they all have our family name on them too.

I'm so glad to hear that we an still order them. They are really quite pretty but as I said, they are a little out of date. Also, when we went in 2008 we were on a trip that centered around the princess-mania that we were living in at the time (DD was 4yo and DS was only 8 months). Now they are 10 and 6 and needless to say, we will NOT be princess focussed. In fact, both are into pirates and we are staying at CBR and have PL reservations instead of BBB! I'm glad we can customize a new set of maps to reflect what will surely be a very different trip.

And I LOVE the idea of framing them! With a second set That would be an option. Of course, it depends on how tattered they are after DS is through with them!

Just keep in mind that they're back and front, so you'll want to order a set now and then another in six months when they allow you to order again. Then you'll be able to frame all 4 of them. Does that make sense?

I just did mine at http://customizedmaps.disney.go.com/ and went with the character theme too. They're really cute. I think I'm going to use them somehow when we tell my daughter about our trip in October.

I'm assuming you can print them out, as UK guests cannot have them sent by post?

Hey... I am from overseas as well. And I cannot load the page too if choose either of the bottom 4 parks. Go from the top link where there is a "Learn More" button. There choose a few suggested attraction and proceed with it. Then you could get to a page to refine your customization park by park.

Of course if you want to order them and have them send to you. You need a relative or friend in US to be able to do so. Else you can always choose the print map option.
