Custom Clothing at DL

We don't do custom clothes. These are darling, but my boys would never go for it. What I did for this last trip to WDW is bought a ton of solid colored t-shirts. Each day, I had assigned colors for the boys and for DH and myself, so that we wouldn't clash in the family pictures. The day we were picked to be in the Animal Kingdom parade, we all were wearing matching green shirts, which may have been something that caught the CM's eye. I know the shirts matched really well with the vests we wore and the float we were on. On the last day, we were a sunset. Red, orange, yellow and white. I'm not sure what we are going to do about this next trip to DL, as it will be cold in Feb. so we'll probably need more than just t-shirts. I may have do tees with turtle necks underneath. That way we can remove the turtle neck if it warms up during the day.

That is a great idea too all the matching shirts. Maybe you could all get matching coats or sweatshirts for the feb trip.

...but I bought several Disney shirts (Tigger is on one, Mickey on the other) for our boys and the 2 kids of the family we're travelling with. They were on sale at disney.com. :cool1:

I also bought some disney-themed tshirts for myself from Walmart! :thumbsup2

Hey - whatever gets you in that disney spirit. I buy my hubbys shirts and have customized polos' from disney shopping.

My DD's first trip to DLR, I didn't even know about "custom" clothes. Our trip to WDW the following year, I made her a couple princess dresses (not specific princesses, though) and a hula costume for OHana's but that was about it.

The next trip to DLR, I bought 2 outfits (including the Minnie overalls below) and then decided to make her some myself. They were fairly simple, painted jeans and coordinating tops.

For our trip in May, you can bet she'll have at least one outfit for each day we're there and probably an extra one or two. LOL I'm also planning to make outfits for my great-nephews. If I have time, I'm also thinking about doing tees for the adults. Here are a couple I've made so far. I'm trying to mostly do long tops (like Tink) which will have matching Capris but I thought we needed at least one twirl set. :rolleyes1

OMG!! These are all so cute! It makes me wish to have a kid now (my hubby and I decided to wait a bit after being married - spend some time just us). But if I could convince him to wear custom DisSign shirts, maybe I can get him in an applique one once we do have kids!!! (Mwaaa ha ha ha = evil laugh).

It's amazing how quickly what seemed unimaginable pre-children becomes no big deal once children are in the picture. LOL I'll admit I don't wear tees with any graphics, logos, etc. on them but make an exception when we do to DLR. I half-jokingly told the other adults who will be going on this trip that I was going to make tees for each one and pick a character that I thought was a good match for them. I expected them to find a reason to say no so I was surprised when most said they'd love one.

You ladys are HORRIBLE :lmao: J/K lol................ I have to little boys and your all really making me want a girl! I just hope that it turns out to be a girl this time! Then i might be messaging you all to about making some deals for my new princess *fingers crossed*

When we did our Bachelor/Bachelorette Parties and Rehearsal dinner at DTD last year, I made everyone wear matching Polo Shirts with iron on's on the front and back. Granted, I didn't make the guys wear the pink like the girls. The only one who even remotely complained now wears it to work!!!

LisaZoe...............beautiful. Absolutely wonderfully done! Do you mind if I steal in idea or two?

I need ideas for boys too! Anyone?

I did some outfits for DS for out WDW trip last fall. Our DLR trip was kind of a surprise so no outfits this time.

There are lots of cute things you can make for boys. When they are real little the jonjon type outfits are cute. Then you have the shortalls of course and just shirts with shorts for the older ones.

oh and what character are you going to be?

I was thinking Grumpy, one of Cinderella's stepsisters or the hag from Snow White. Some days I feel like a combination of all three. LOL I'm definitely not a princess. :rotfl:

To be honest, I struggle with ideas for boys since I only have DD. I seem to be stuck with basics like appliqued tees, shorts/jeans and possibly some camp shirts. The youngest (3) is still in the transition to using the potty so I don't think overalls/shortalls would work for him... although they were very cute on him when he was younger. I bought some fun fabric that is bright green background with Mickey head silhouettes done as swirls in several bright colors. I'm planning to make camp shirts with that and will probably use the print as an accent rather than the whole shirt. I also got some cool dark blue fabric with Nemo, Dory, Marlin and the sharks on it. I'm thinking to use it for a camp shirt for the bigger boy (7), shorts for the little boy and capris for my DD as well as an accent on a matching top for her.

Boys are so much harder to come up with, especially when they get older. I think I'll be taking these 2 sets with us. I am so undecided though, Monsters is WAY small and I'll have to cut off the pants and make them short-ish. Cars is just getting to the point where it is small. I wasn'g going to bring them until I read the morning and evenings could be cool.

I haven't made him anything new in a while, but he just put a hole in a pair of jeans so might cut those off and make something else for him. He'll definately be customized somewhat though.

I just started 2 new shirts for me this morning (thanks for your help Lori with the font issues).

I just finished this outfit. I'm thinking of doing something with Goofy on it for are big dinner date with him! :goodvibes
