Hi all!

I have never posted to this forum before - please don't hurt me!

I have to place some holdbacks on the casing of my bedroom windows. I seem to remember in the past reading that there are standard proportions to follow when placing items like this. I need to know how high to place the holdbacks (for some reason "halfway up the first pane" sticks in my mind, but i don't know why), and I need to know whether they go on the casing itself, or on the wall next to the casing and why. I know in one of my curtain books, there was a line drawing listing out all info of this type, but I loaned all my books to my mom and she's not available.

The curtains themselves are floor length.

Thanks in advance if you know the answer to this!:hippie:
