Curse You DVC add on enablers!

200 points was supposed to be enough. But on my VERY first DVC owner trip I decided to stay at BWV in a 1BR garden view. I ended up renting 30 pts to complete a split stay for the trip!
The solution everyone seems to have for this is MORE POINTS!
The experience has me looking at 50 pt add on contracts!

I can be strong. I can wait a few years and see if this is an anomaly that makes ocassional point rental fine, or a shortsightness that requires an add on...
But reading this forum makes me look at contracts...

Okay, two contracts because we’ll split resale and direct for AP benefits, but that’s it!, we said.

Okay, but we really love AKV and consider it our second home after BRV, so we’ll just buy a second resort, but that’s it!, we said.

Okay, but BRV is expiring as we’re retiring and we really want to continue staying at the Wilderness Lodge, so maybe we should add another, but that’s it!, we said.

yup started with small contract for studio only stays we stayed in two bedroom one year and that was it - one or two bedrooms only for us.

Originally purchased a 50 point contract for a studio for every other year for 5-6 nights. Took a transfer to surprise my wife for our 25th anniv (BLT - Theme park view). Came back home and purchased an additional contract so we can stay in a 1 bed every other year.

Took a transfer so we could stay in a grand villa (theme park view Thanksgiving week with the grandkids). Now thinking I need to purchase another contract so we have the second bedroom.

Just remember you still have to pay dues on whatever points you buy. We just paid almost $2,000 on our 3 contracts (335 points)!

I'm wondering the same thing, but I booked lake view last time and had a partial theme park view. I LOVED looking at the Magic Kingdom, so I booked theme park view for my next trip.

Yes! I LOVED it!

I am just thinking our future WDW trips will probably not be at the second most expensive time of year point wise.
