Curse the availability in Nov. at BLT!

Curse it because my dates are still avilable for the size of room and view I'd want! DH doesn't want to split stay this time. We'll only be there 8 days but jeeze, the 2 BR MK view is STILL available for my entire stay. I just wanted to give it a few days. Anyone have any ideas on how to convince DH? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE AKL and am proud to own there and it was my first choice hands down, but after seeing the model I just wanted to try it ya know?

My husband loved being within walking distance of the MK and being able to take the monorail to Epcot/other resorts. Fewer buses! Would he like the idea of fireworks from the top? It is pretty sweet! Ceiling to floor windows are awesome, too. We had a lake view and loved it. You can just walk to the bus depot at MK and hop on a bus to any resort. Also, he and the kids had a blast renting jet skis and exploring Bay Lake. Good luck!

Thanks Tinkgirl. Makes me want to go even more now. You know what I should do, I shoudl jsut book a few days there. Seriously. I'M the one that books the whole stinkin trip anyway! I'm the ONLY one in this house that researches anything. He should just go along for the ride and be happy I included him! I can say that after 18 years of marriage. All said w/ love of course.

Oh heck with it. I think it's a sign to me that I'm 4 months out and there is still availability! It is ALSO a sign that my itinerary would be PERFECT to start out there because we'll do MK and Epcot the first 2 full days anyway. I'll just not bother to tell DH. I'm driving us to the resort anyway from the airport. He'll just have to cope. Yeah, cope w/ a nice view of MK and posh living. It'll be tough but I think he'll manage. Momma gets what momma wants! Or you don't want to be NEAR momma!
PLUS, we're bringing my mom this time and it's only her second trip EVER to WDW (or anywhere) and may be her last, you never know. So I would like her to see the BEST I can get for her. Geting to see WDW from BLT and AKV seems pinnacle to me.

I've never done a split stay but if that's what you want, that's what you get.

Just had a similar conversation with DW about Aulani. We bought 165 points and plan on going next September when it opens. I want to borrow my 2012 points and stay in a 1BR Ocean View. She thinks that's too many points (sure, at 322 it is) but if I'm going to Hawaii (first trip ever) i don't want a parking lot view. I want to see the ocean.

(I know, I know, when Aulani opens, there are only 119 villas and probably not many ocean view rooms but a fella can dream a little).

I should add, we've done many split stays so it's not unknown to us at all. It'll just require a little more planning on my end but it's pretty simple.

BLT is awesome!!! I opened BLT last August for 4 night MKV. My kids are still talking about it. I have a grand villa LV for January can't wait.

Good luck on the waitlist. We stayed there in October - 2BR, LV and we loved it. Even my husband who did not want to stay anywhere other than his beloved OKW said it was wonderful. He is the one who picked BLT for our trip this year.

It sure was convenient walking to and from the MK. I think I got kind of spoiled, actually.

Well, neato, bandito! I got one night. The first of the 3. I thought Saturday would be the hardest night to get. I'll keep trying to get another 2 days. But if I could only get one night, a 2 BR MK view will be AWESOME! I asked about ANY view and any size available and there was only a 1 BR LV and 2 BR MK available for one of my 3 days so I took the 2br. I'm open to any view honestly but I can't deny that this one, if it's our only night there will be heaven.
