Current work at the Fort

I forgot to say when I was here a year ago, the staging area for the cabins along Big Pine Dr was unsightly. Not anymore!

@ScarletFire,

If the big staging field's new grass looks good, I guess they'll use it for the Halloween overflow parking coming up soon as they did in years past (except for 2024 during the cabin buildout).

Thanks for the pics. Great job! :worship:

A couple pictures from yesterday, 9/23/25, of the meadow pool construction. Working steadily on all the drainage and pool piping for the area. The dry pond next to the new pool area already had grass growing and is level.

One quick picture of LSL and the main lobby coming together.

I'm wondering what the plans are for the old pool space once the new one opens.

And the new resort looks like it will be very nice when done. It's just a shame they decided to encroach so much onto the Fort.

What’s the current state of the Meadows area, and accessing the pool, store, bike barn from the various loops?
Will be there in under 3wk (:cheer2:📣:cheer2:yahoo!!), not planning on a cart golf, will have a bike. Will be in a tent, so loop 1500 or 2000.

From 1500, you would walk/bike to 1400 loop, go past the Theater Under the Stars, you will then run into the Bike Barn. The pool would be straight ahead after the Bike Barn. The trading post would be across the bridge on the right.

From 2000, you could approach from the main road down the center of the campground. You would find the Meadow TP on the right, go through or around, cross the bridge, the pool is to the right, the bike barn to the left.

Took these pics yesterday- staying at another resort now but have a Feb trip planned to FW

I don’t know that this has been mentioned previously, but there is no more Purple bus route. The transportation map shows Orange and Yellow, no Purple.

I wonder if that's only temporary, @proudmomof4 . The Purple went thru the cabin loops, turned left past the Creekside Meadow Group camping area, then hung a right up towards the new TCD Barn and the eyesore behind Pioneer Hall to the Fort Settlement Bus Depot.

With all the construction work, vendors, workers, and congestion around the eyesore, they MAY have not wanted the additional bus traffic in each direction as they get closer to finishing the giant gingerbread house. They already have to deal with the bus run to/from the Settlement Depot from/to WL and MK on that road (Wilderness Way IIRC) to which they are probably MORE committed to than they are to the Purple line.

Were I a DVC FW cabin owner, though, I would be upset and want my Purple and Orange lines thru the cabin loops which gives me TWICE the internal transport (theoretically) than the Orange and Yellow lines get through the campsites. They're paying a premium price for .... something. :confused3

But hey, if the timeshare folks are okay with fewer services that they are supposedly paying for, it's fine with me. I'll bet their maintenance/annual fees will go down next year since there is no Purple bus expense. That's the way that fee thingy works, right? :rotfl2:

Thanks for the update, though. Good to know I don't have the Purple line for the time being (maybe).
