Current Tour Incentives

Usually if you are a member and just want to see the new villas, they set up specific times of the day for members to tour them. You don't get anything other than maybe a glass of lemonade and a cookie.

Darn, I would like to see the Riviera model, but a few extra fast passes would convince me to take away from my pool time

If you are already DVC members and go on a tour of Riviera, can you receive the fast passes?

I *think* the answer to this is now *no.*

I recently did a DVC tour on 3/17/19 when we were there for spring break because I was hoping they’d have info on DRR (they didn’t, even though it went on sale 10 days later) and our family of 5 each got 3 FastPasses. So prior to that date existing members could for sure get FastPasses.

That said, I had called a couple weeks prior to being on property to set up the tour because I knew the rest of my crew would be sleeping in that day and I’d have time to do it, and I confirmed when I booked it that we’d all get the FastPasses. When I checked in at the DVC podium at the Poly the morning of my tour, the DVC rep told me that effective as of that date, they were no longer going to be giving FastPasses to existing members who did the tour. I have no way to confirm whether that is accurate, but coming from the DVC frontline CM that morning at the Poly, that is the official word.

As far as the FP+ exclusions go, I’m pretty sure that @crvetter nailed the list with Peter Pan also being excluded.

My wife and I each received $75 and 3 fast passes for each of us and our 2 kids. The fast passes had restrictions. Also they will pick you up and drop you off anywhere on property

Wow!!! I worked for Disney as an ASA from 1999 to 2001 and back then the only thing we could offer was lunch if they went between 10:30 and 12:30. Offering $150 in gift cards seems like an amazing incentive to get someone to go on tour.

How quickly are these tours set up if you go to a in park kiosk? I'm gonna be there at the end of August (staying at WL) and wanted to tour on one of our "rest" days. Would it make more sense to set it up ahead of time or as other had said, might this affect the incentives?

We were at DL and I just stopped at a DVC kiosk to chat with the CM while my girlfriend was getting a drink, next thing I know we’re being escorted to the blue van for our tour. How did that happen??

I’m not sure how it’s works at WDW, and we were there during a very slow time of year so YMMV. Good luck!

The kiosks have the ability to schedule the tours, so I think you can have one as early as the same day. For us it was either a Wednesday or a Thursday in park they roped us into a tour, for the Saturday(as that was a non park day for us). It does make a difference what resort you want to see, as the tour locations vary.

I got that lunch back in 2000. We had our lunch at Spoodles on the Boardwalk (if I am correctly remembering that locations name at the time). I'm still paying dues on that lunch but enjoying every minute!

My girlfriend and I just got back last week and our contract just closed today.

After my girlfriend and I talked about it for a bit, on a whim I told her we should go to the booth to see what it was all about. They offered us transportation, $50x2 for a total of $100 in Disney dollars and 3 fast passes (was given 3 more also after we left for some sort of “inconvenience” lol).

Honestly, the experience was actually pretty fun and with me doing my research long before-hand (were a 23 year old couple and the last thing I wanted was taken advantage of) I had most of my direct-buy questions answered. Our guide was a great guy and super helpful. If you’re considering becoming a member, I would honestly just do it. I’m probably still drowning in the magic but we already booked two more weeks in the coming months. I couldn’t be happier all because I went on a whim.

Also, we discovered a flaw in the free fast pass thing while we were there...hopefully someone can also take advantage of this! Turns out if you have some of the tour fast passes left, you can actually book a fast pass for the attraction that you want to go on for anytime and when you scan your band it’ll just take that fast pass as opposed to one of your comped ones...regardless of the time you show up. We went on at least 10 rides on the comped fast passes alone!

So I thought I'd update this post with our experience. We went today. We were offered $50 each and three fast passes. I realized I could have better optimized this by going before our breakfast at boardwalk and saved $40 on the Lyfts... Boo. Hate when I realize I didn't perfectly optimize. I asked about $75 - the kiosk lady told me its "$25 for value, $50 for moderates, $75 for deluxe"... I didn't press.

It was a very interesting experience. My son LOVED kids club. Our guide seemed to really prefer CCV over Riviera he claimed they sold 12% of their remaining CCV inventory last week (77% to 89% "sold out")... But I made it clear I wasn't too interested in CCV. I have to say, I was MUCH more impressed with the Riviera suites in person. Huge. Beautiful finish out. I won't lie - I'm tempted... Maybe that's pixie dust? It makes me sad though that the dues plus restriction tip the balance the other way. Maybe I'll pick up some resale points in a few years.

I was surprised that our guide did kinda do the "so sign you up today?" which I was not expecting... It certainly wasn't a hard sell. But I think the fact that it is April 30, has something to do with it.

He was very upfront on reallocating - and mentioned room points can change from room type to room type. I know there is quite a massive thread on this elsewhere.

It's a slick experience and my husband and I are glad we did it, though I think we wish we had done it on resort day.

I didn’t even ask about gift cards! I just wanted the FPs!!! Lol. (They did say that the FPs were only for people who weren’t already members; did they say anything like that to you?)

I also was very impressed with the actual rooms. They look so much nicer than either the computer generated pictures on the website or even the video tours posted online.

Oh FPs! We aren't members - so didn't ask either way. I think I might have pressed especially if I bought a $20k plus time share that day lol... Those FPs have already brought us many happy returns on the back half of our trip!

I can confirm $50 GC offering for our April 9th tour. One of us is already a DVC owner, so no GC offered. We stayed at Riverside, and they offered $50 GC.

Another interesting about FP+ restrictions that they offer for a tour- we tried to use it for Epcot character greetings and found out that we could not use it. Apparently, if you go to your My Disney Experience and click multiple experiences FP+ given from a DVC tour, it will tell you which ones that you could use these 3 FP+s for. Epcot character greetings was not on a list confirming what a cast member telling us about at the FP+ entrance for Epcot character greeting spot.

Yes forgot to mention this. It's those top tier rides and all "character meet and greets". They told us that at the DVC center.

I don't feel like he oversold the low point charts. I also like that their numbers assumed a 4% inflation on dues which is a bit more than historical average. He even compared to renting points - when I didn't mention anying about that.
