Current Platinum Stateroom Gift?

I have had to show our DVC membership card to claim a hat on a couple of cruises. Other times, they simply verified our membership from their list of members onboard the cruise. About the only time I ever wear a hat is when doing the 5K fun run on Castaway Cay, so I never have one packed for the trip.

They just took our room number and marked it that we got the hats

Our cruise in a few weeks will be our first as Platinum. Looking at your pic it seems to be the same gift we got as Gold - don't they add an additional gift for the higher level or is it just the color of the lanyard that changes?

The color of the lanyard changes. And the Platinum level gift is the choice of the truffles, fruit bowl, or sparkling wine. You also receive the Silver & Gold level gifts (bag & luggage tags, respectively).

Pre-Covid, we were contacted by room service asking us what Platinum gift we wanted. We usually go for the truffles, although I did have the sparkling wine (Prosecco) delivered to the MDR where we were to eat one night. We shared it with an adjacent table with two couples, since DW does not drink alcohol and one glass of fairly sweet sparkling wine is as much as I usually want. Just enough for us to toast to a great cruise.

I'm fine with anything we get. It is a gift. They don't have to give us anything,
I just pass things on. Everyone in the family has the sling bag.
And extras if they break or want more. That is fine with me

Still the sling bag this past January.....don't think it has changed at all recently....they have two years of inventory to go through because of the shut down lol!

And....I think the offer of a fruit bowl as a Platinum perk is pretty ridiculous since you can get as much fruit as you want other areas around the ship and through room service. The truffles did not taste good at all so we stick with the wine and bring it to dinner.

Don't get me wrong...I am very appreciative of getting anything but i do think the gift should be something that is not so easily attained like fruit.

Just remember - even if they had planned to change it before now, they had 18 months worth at least of paid for, stockpiled sling bags to get through.

My favorite onboard gift was the umbrella we received on our Baltic cruise.
