Current or Recent Visitors - best FP+ times?

My time to get my FP+ is sneaking up on me and I've read that FP+ has changed the game to a certain extent, most notably on certain standby rides (since people are getting FP+s earlier than the old FP- used to go into effect).

I'm pretty certain which rides I'll get my FP+ for and they're the headliners you'd expect at each park (more or less). I've read that the general rule of thumb is to do RD then FP for the afternoon.

Here's my question - are there any exceptions to that? For instance, is there a certain time of day that is smartest for the TSMM FP or Soarin's FP? Just curious if those FP lines are still awful at certain times I should avoid.

Might be too early to know for sure but wanted to throw the question out there.

I think the general rule that applies to all attractions applies to headliners like TSM and Soarin' as well: get them in the afternoon when lines are normally longest.

See the green link in my signature for more info.

Yup Mesa is right, during the test last November we had alot of FP for early in the day. Crowds were so light in the morning that most rides were close to walk on.

We ended up changing almost all our morning FP to afternoon and some to later night.

Only possible exception would be Belles storytime. That one seemed reversed....

Thanks - it's those "exceptions" I was wondering about. :) My plan is to do afternoon FP+s but...if there was some weird thing about Soarin FP line getting oddly long right after lunch or something, it would be nice to know. Sounds like the general rule should be the way to go except for ETWB (which I unfortunately won't be doing anyway...sadly).

I think MK will be an interesting situation with the new ride. I would assume that new ride will bring more people to Fantasy Land area and all attractions in that area will see an increase in lines: "While Dad waits for a new ride, mom and ds or dd go on.... " kind of deal.

The one I would be most concerned about would be Anna and Elsa if you're interested. It has been suggested by those with far more experience than I that the waits could very likely be extremely long in the afternoon even with FP. If you can get an early time for them, you may be better off. Time will tell.

Personally, I would save ETWB until the afternoon. It takes a while and would eat up too much prime morning touring time, IMO.

ah....good point. I doubt Mine Train FP+ will be up on April 8 when I can start booking them...but hopefully that will be an option at some point.

As for A&E - no, we won't be going down that road. My kids had no interest in waiting in lines for characters even when they were the "right" age for it and the line was just 20 minutes. :rotfl:
