Staying there for a few days next month and wondering if anyone has stayed her recently - if so can you give me some info....thx!

We stayed at the Anaheim Plaza Hotel for 11 nights in July.

The APH is a no-frills hotel (compared to the Howard Johnson and the Candy Cane Inn), but for $75/day (plus $4/day for parking) it was decent and we enjoyed our stay.

Pluses:

Cheaper than most walking-distance hotels
About a 9-minute walk to the DL/DCA main entrance
Clean room & good housekeeping
Some rooms come with a patio or a balcony
Really nice & clean swimming pool (75-foot x 50-foot), hot tub, plenty of towels for the pool
Coffee maker & refrigerator (although we had to ask for a microwave oven)
Nice landscaping
Located right next to the GardenWalk

Minuses:

$4/day parking
Wi-Fi costs $9.95 for 24 hours
No continental breakfast
Crossing the Harbor Blvd. & Disney Way intersection seems to take too long (I don’t like waiting :earsboy: )

HTH :earsboy:

Does anybody know if this hotel has nonsmoking rooms?

I am having trouble finding a clear answer. I've read smoking rooms, but not if there are non smoking rooms as well.

Anyone know?

I have a nonsmoking room reserved for our stay next month.

I'm sure no hotel/motel is all smoking ~ our room last year was for sure smoke free.

Ok this is good to know. I was wondering because I have seen hotels that tend to be less than the rest, as the Aniheim Plaza is on Harbor, being all smoking. Las Vegas comes to mind were there is more than one like this.

Thank for your help clarifying this.

We were just there in August. We had a non-smoking room but they have ashtrays in the 'hallway' outside of the rooms that some guests seem to use. It wasn't a big deal for us.

When we walked into the room I was a little bit disappointed but then I realized what did I expect when I only paid $400 for 6 nights. The rooms were big and they were clean, the maids were great, and I found the service very friendly.

This was the furthest we have ever stayed from Disney, but the walk was really short and I didn't mind at all.

My kids and DH loved the pool, my kids liked the arcade after we got back from Disney for the night.

All in all I thought it was a good place to stay and if budget is ever an issue again I will stay there again. It might not be 'up to date' but as I said it was clean, and the staff was very friendly so I can't complain at all. It was a good stay.

We stayed there for 3 nights at the beginning of August. I won't be staying there again. The only good thing about the hotel is the close proximity to the park. There was a HUGE spider in our room, the beds were really uncomfy and the pool area was pretty run-down. I guess I am used to Hojos, it is a MUCH better hotel. Our rooms (we had 2) were both non-smoking.

Do you remember what kind of room you were in?

The good and maybe bad news is the pool area will be closed for renovations in a couple weeks for about a month.

When we originally planned our trip we were going to spend Friday at the hotel..relaxing and swimming...so glad that we decided to DL on Friday too.

I spoke with a agent at the Anahiem Plaza last night the Pool renovation will start later than their website stated. It is now starting I think on Sept. 24th.
