Has anyone lately taken the tour with a guide at SSR for either BLT or AKV? If so, what are the gifts they are giving out after the tour ? Fast passes? Disney Dollars? Can you still get ice cream?

Gifts? I didn't know they gave out gifts.:confused3 We didn't go with our guide thru the AKV models (he wasn't available) but nobody gave us anything when we went...

When we had our tour in Sept we recieved Fast Passes for our family. The kids went to the kids area while we had the actual tour to see the room and speak with our guide and after we all got ice cream and stickers!!!! :cool1:

This probably won't be too helpful since we went on a tour the first week of February, but at that time there was a little sign saying you get a $100 gift card for taking the tour. We we were told that we weren't eligible since we were already members - even though we had never taken the tour before. It was ok but I was a little put off because other DIS board members had reported in the past that they received the perks even though they were members. I don't mind whatever the policy is - as long as it applies to everyone. Anyhoo, we were offered the ice cream at the end of the tour - Edy's brand - but didn't try it. They also had some cookies and lemonade/coffee in the lobby while you were waiting for a guide to give you the spiel. Hope that helps!

When we toured in June we got 3 instant fast pass cards good for all of us (9 FP total) and 3 $15 gift cards.

Thanks! Yes, I have not seen BLT yet even though we are BLT owners! ( I was one of the fence sitters that bit when they threatened the "no more under 100 pt. contracts after Jan. 15th"). Sooo, want to take the tour when we're there in May. I was wondering if owners still got any of those bennies for taking the tour? Do you know if you have to use the fastpasses within a certain time frame (if they still offer them that is)? I'll be curious if we do get anything or not.

We asked about fastpasses - since we didn't get the $100 gift certificate. They said no way ;) As the guide explained it, if they gave out stuff to people who owned already, then every owner would be there looking for something for free. I said I understood that but that I had heard that owners who had never taken the tour before (and they do have records of that) were still eligible for the perks but this guide said to forget it. If you're going anyway, there's no harm in asking. I definitely think owners who have never taken the tour before should be eligible for the perks. Then again, I bought resale (and this guide knew it) so you may have better luck than me ;) Good luck!

That's pretty consistent with what I have heard, too. For the most part DVC tries to keep current member touring to the 5 - 7pm timeframe. During those hours the model rooms are open but they aren't typically staffed by licensed sales personnel. They will have a booth-level staffer on hand just to keep an eye on things and let members roam free.

During other hours they don't let people into the models without a personal escort. And as a rule they don't give current members any hand-outs for visiting.

We went on the tour at the end of March and got 3 FP for each of us and ice cream.

We toured and bought into BLT while we were at Disney in March and received 6 VIP FastPass cards (which are essentially cards that contain 3 FastPasses each, so 18 total) as well as an ice cream social. Since we bought the first day of our trip, we were so excited every time we passed BLT because we kept saying next year, we'll be staying at our "home." :cloud9:

We took the tour with my parents (they're NOT DVC) a week before you did (the last week in January). There wasn't any sign about $100.00. They each got a $15.00 gift card. DH & I did not receive anything.

Bump :flower3:

We're planning on taking the tour when we visit next month, so I'd still love to hear what kind of little goodies people are getting. Would love to walk away with a signed DVC contract...

We took the tour. We received 5 VIP FPs and 5 $15 gift cards. Ice cream and cookies were also offered.:)

Great! Are you already an owner? I'm all set for the van to pick us up, but I'm already an owner, so I'm hoping at least for some fast passes. :thumbsup2

We were not owners at the time. So that probably doesn't help you. :confused3 However, they weren't going to give us anything because they knew that we were buying. My husband loves goodies-insisted. If you are buying and just not touring--hopefully you can get something.:)

I would be interested in knowing whether or not you get anything when you go - it's always interesting to see if people are treated differently - for whatever reason... Thanks!

We are thinking of adding on at BLT. My husband called our guide and he said that fast passes are not a problem.:thumbsup2

Good luck

I'm glad your guide told you that.

I can't see where giving out a few fast passes to current DVC owners that take a tour is going to negatively effect Disney's bottom line. I am thinking that a few fastpasses are a small token in exchange for some face time with owners that have never done the tour before.

You never know who has add-onitis!
