We'll be checking in to the Poly in 6 days :yay:. Any new on the current fridge situation at the resorts? I know that they've been working diligently on replacing the affected models, but I'm hoping they've been EXTRA diligent and that we'll have our fridge! Any updates would be appreciated. :goodvibes

From reports I have read it varies room to room and resort to resort

That's what I've been hearing too, I was kinda hoping for a more definitive report - like "the fridge change-outs have been completed at X resort" or something of that nature. Ah well, I guess we'll just have to depend on luck of the draw or more likely "unluck" of the draw!

More info needed, progress reports would be nice plus the remedy of 15.00 per day for one not in room or available when checking in...

To some, this is a big issue with groceries ordered....

I absolutely agree! We don't have groceries ordered or a medical need, but we do like to have cold water and such at hand as well as a few breakfast items for the kids in the early mornings before RD. It's FL in August. We want the ability to have cold drinks in our room readily available if we don't feel like trekking to Capt Cook's to fill our mugs! Here's hoping our room has a fridge!

Progress reports would be excellent. Staying at POP in just over a month, and not having a fridge to keep water cold sure will stink. I fear the ice makers won't be able to keep up with the demand for ice either.

I wonder if we could bring our own fridge like folks used to a few years ago?

Would if I could! We're flying, so no fridge will be traveling with us.

Currently at POR. Many rooms do not have them, very limited supply if you request one.

Here at YC CL and we do have a fridge. I did request one with IPO before we got here. Not sure if that's the reason we have it or not. My husband did overhear some other people on CL say they did not have one.

I was wondering if all resorts are affected? staying at BC Villas in sept in a 1 bedroom.

From everything I've seen, none of the DVC properties are affected. In the one bedroom and larger villas, at all DVC resorts, the refrigerators are normal kitchen-sized . The ones they are swapping out, are the small ones usually found in a cabinet in the regular hotel rooms.

This is the message I received from my TA regarding fridges. We are staying at CBR August 15-23.

'Due to a possible defect Walt Disney World Resort is replacing the refrigerators in the Guest rooms.Effective immediately there will be no refrigerators available until this process is complete. Hotel is unable to provide a completion date and will advise once process is done.'

We at the Poly now and the Hawaii building has fridges that are working. THe POFQ does not have working fridges right now.

In the last 8 days we have stayed in 3 resorts and all have had new frigs in the rooms:
BWI
Beach Club
Contemporary

I did not request anything...they were already there.

And we're hoping for Tokelau, so hoping they're ALL replaced at the Poly.

That sucks......we check into PORFQ on Monday and one of the reasons we selected a moderate resort was the fact that the rooms are advertised with refrigerators. Have three rooms and some special dietary needs in one room. Any suggestions?
If I did not check on this board when was the Mouse going to share this wonderful info!
