Has anyone flown with Sippy cups lately? We are flying in two weeks and have no idea what the latest TSA regs are. TIA!

You can bring the sippie cup empty through security and then purchase beverages when in the secure gate area to take on your flight.

Here is a link to the lastest TSA regulations:

I have also been told that you can bring the empty sippy cup onto the plane and ask the stewardesses to fill it on the plane. This would widely depend on the person you asked though. I plan on trying this, this weekend on Midwest Express.

To add to what the pp have said, if you want water, or even juice, it's pretty easy to come by on the plane as they stock those (check your airline's website and it should tell you in their FAQ somewhere exactly what beverages they make available so you'll know in advance).

If you want MILK - I would buy it in the concourse area after going through security. In our experience it wasn't widely available on the plane and when we asked for it, they didn't have any in the cart but the FA actually had to ask a couple of other FA's if they had any. I've heard that Milk isn't commonly stocked, especially on afternoon & evening flights. Just thought I'd mention that.

At least they've loosened the restrictions a bit and you should be allowed to board with beverages you buy after going through the security checkpoint.

hth.

Just make sure the sippy cup isn't one of the "fancy" kinds, the double layer one with the liquid/glitter stuff in between. That kind might not be allowed through security.

We just flew a week ago, and we were not allowed through security with full sippy cups, but we were allowed to purchase milk and fill the cups before boarding the plane. I've never been able to get milk on a flight, so I usually purchase it while we're waiting to board the plane.

In regards to the type of sippy cups, there was a person behind us in security that had one that light up, and security took it. They said with the way the wires looked in the cup, they couldn't let it on the plane.

We used sippy cups I purchased at Wal*Mart, I think they were called carry & toss? They had princesses on them, a pack of four for maybe $3.

We did same thing...empty sippy through security and DD got a treat of juice on the plane from the flight attendent!

If you want milk in the sippy, you probably need to purchase it after you go through security, since most planes don't stock it as someone already mentioned. If you want water or juice, the flight attendant should be willing to give some to you when you board the plane. I had wondered if you could bring multiple 3oz. containers of milk, as long as they fit in that ziplock, but that is really tiny (the McDonald's jug mentioned earlier is 8 oz!) and didn't seem worth the effort to find containers that small. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find whole milk through security, but then realized that skim or 2% wouldn't be the end of the world just for the flight!
