I am looking to buy in the Disneylands Grand californian and need to know the current deals or the best way to get the best price. What is the current price? What is the best way to get it? What is the referal discount? Any way of getting more points for the first year or builder points?

Thanks,

Mike

Mike, also they are not doing developer points that I know of right now. You can choose to take the Disney cruise, but that would lower your discount to $16 rather than the $22. On 160 point it is also only a 3 day cruise. If you are looking at buying over 200 points the discount goes up to $24.

I can't believe VGC is less than SSR after the discounts. I am so tempted by the VGC deal...thanks for posting the link!

It is, unless you use it at VGC. Because the points per night are so high at VGC, it allows for a lower buy-in price, and lower annual fees.
If you use them at 7 months for WDW, you will make out well as far as price is concerned.

If you want to stay @ GCV you will absolutely need to own there. At the current rates, if you're on the fence, I would say it's definitely time to buy!!

With only 48 units there will are nearly 400,000 members who you would be competing with at 7 months. And if you count the owners that already have ressies, you're looking a literally a few rooms to divvy up between all those other members.

The lower initial cost is appealing even with the higher point requirements however I was looking at the budgets on DVCNews.com and while currently VGC are lower I have a couple of questions.

Does anyone know why the "Fees to Division" for VGC are so much higher than the other Villas .55 VGC versus <.01 /pnt/yr for others?

There is also a .34 /pnt/yr Transient Occupancy Tax for VGC that none of the other complexes have. Does anyone know whether this is an ongoing annual cost?

These two higher amounts have more than offset not having a transportation assessment. Seems to be almost $1 /pnt/yr in some kind of tax. ???

I know the taxes are probably higher in California which may have some impact..

Timeshares in some CA counties require owners to pay the hotel tax technically known as Transient Occupancy Tax or TOT. I would expect it to be permenent (unless the State of CA somehow permanently solves its budget mess). Orange County may increae the percentage of TOT over time, but that will effect hotels at DL as well. -- Suzanne
