Current Best Practices for Canceling ADRs near 24 hours?

Hi,

Our usual routine is to review our ADRs the night before while at WDW. If we modify our plans I may add or remove a reservation.

It's my understanding that until recently WDW would allow cancellation online up to midnight the night before your ADR without a fee. Is this still the case? Is it important to do this via the app or website? Or is it necessary to call?

I thought I read somewhere that they had recently disabled the cancel button online inside 24 hours. So does that mean that prior to 24 hours you can cancel online, but inside 24 hours requires a phone call (and possible penalty charge)?

Just want to be sure we have our routine worked out and plan accordingly before we get swept up in vacation mode.

Thanks!

Cancellation is still "the day prior." Nothing has ever been listed as "24 hours." The website can have a glitch, but it's rarely a problem. The phone lines close at 11, so you've got an extra hour if you cancel online.

Before 12 midnight has always been our experience and never a problem. I use the my disney experience app to cancel when necessary.
