Curly/Frizz prone hair in December

I need the low down on humidity for my wavy/curly and very frizz prone hair in December. I'll be in Orlando 12/25-12/31 and with the temps being around 80 daily, will the typically Florida humidity follow? It will effect how I pack, flat iron vs diffuser, straightening balm vs, curling cream, etc. I'm wondering if bothering with straight hair is pissing in the wind!?

Keep in mind that with the lower December temperatures, the reduced impact of the humidity (dew points) on comfort, and hair, is reduced.

Dew Point
Dew point is often a better measure of how comfortable a person will find the weather than relative humidity because it more directly relates to whether perspiration will evaporate from the skin, thereby cooling the body. Lower dew points feel drier and higher dew points feel more humid.

Over the course of a year, the dew point typically varies from 43°F (dry) to 76°F (very muggy) and is rarely below 25°F (dry) or above 78°F (oppressive).

There are two periods in the year that are most comfortable: The first is between January 1 and April 27 and the second is between November 2 and December 31. The air feels neither too dry nor too muggy during these periods.

I don't bother straightening my hair at WDW. I would pack your curly hair products. I usually do curly messy ponytails.

We go to Disney frequently. My hair straight is hopeless when we are there, no matter what month. Even when humidity is low there, it is still higher then what my hair is used to. So it still goes insane. A diffuser doesn't even help. If you can find Scruples hair products, their Smooth Out and Creme Parfait seem to work the best/longest to keep the frizz out of my curls.

Even without humidity, you'll be going on fast rides, water rides, running about all over the place.... don't even worry about your hair!

Just got back from Universal. My Wife packed me a leave in conditioner that she would apply on my hair every morning.

I was just there with my semi curly/wavy hair. I just use my favorite curl shampoo/conditioners (Garnier Curl Nourish) as well as a leave in conditioner and a little bit of Nexxus mousse and my hair stayed very soft and very curly.

I would not bother straightening your hair. Just go with the curl/wave & save yourself some stress. :)
Agreed! I go natural and just pull it back into a bun for the parks. On off days I go half up/half down. It's actually a nice break from straightening, since I do that everyday.

We were there Dec 11-16. No rain, beautiful weather 80+ degrees. However, most every morning there was a dense fog advisory out. My hair is naturally curly and prone to frizz. I'd straighten it and put it in a ponytail, but as soon as I'd step out the door in the morning, my hair freaked out. So to answer your question...

YES. :rotfl2:

I live in swampy SE Texas, and I often wear my hair straight, even though it is naturally very curly and wavy.

I use a Chi iron and smooth it out with skinny serum.
