would a curling iron, nail clipper, folding scissors and disposable razors be allowed in checked luggage (since they're not allowed in carryon now)?

thank you

I've always packed those things in my check in luggage. Was I not suppose to? I do use double bagging for my liquid items. I fly about 4 round trips per year and have never encountered a problem. But everything is different now.

I don't see any reason why those items would not be allowed in checked luggage. Passengers do not have access to checked luggage during the flight, and none of the items you mentioned are inherently dangerous.

thanks for responding - i will probably put my curling iron into my checked luggage, if i decide to bring it at all

I spoke with a AAA travel agent today and she said one of her clients was kicked off a plane for having a diposable razor in her checked luggage.......but buy those razors once you arrive

Yikes!! I have a disposable razor packed right now in my bag to be checked. I'm staying on disney property without a rental car. Where in the world can I pick up a razor? I certainly cannot go the week without shaving my legs. I'm sorry - I'm dark haired and need to shave every day. Are they searching everyone's luggage even when checked? I thought it was just carry-ons that were being searched???? I'm flying Southwest if that helps.... I leave first thing tomorrow morning and now I don't know what to do.....

Hi, I was told today by my travel agent that any sharp objects, such as razors, nail clippers, tweezers, etc., would be o.k. as long as they were packed in your checked baggage. She also said that children do not need photo I.D. as long as they are accompanied by their parents. I'm sure every airport is different, might be wise to call and check it out. Hope this helps. Everyone have a safe trip.

Any idea about medical supplies? I don't want to pack my son's syringes and lancets in the checked luggage. I don't want to risk the luggage being lost and he may need to have his sugar checked during the flight. On the flight down he'll need a shot. Anyone know if they'll give me a problem about this?

kbeverina - I would think you would be ok. I would make sure you have some type of medical papers with you to show proof. I would also call the airline and talk to someone for specifics.

Thanks--I will do just that. We have letters for both my husband and son, but I will be way too scared to put those things in the checked luggage. When we flew last year the plane was full and we were told we had to check our carry-ons at the gate. I explained about the medical supplies and they wouldn't budge--they told me if I didn't check them they may end up on another flight. So I took them out of the carry-on and shoved them in my purse.
