Since Iron is not allowed on board what about curling iron/hair straightner/blow dryer? I need them!!!:scared:

Yes. Bring a power strip though as there are not many outlets in the cabins. This way I was able to plug in my curling iron and hair dryer while still having our phones and such charging.:thumbsup2

Just make sure that you don't have too many electrical appliances on. You dont want to cause any electrical damage.

yes you can have them, but don't be surprised if your room steward unplugs them. ;) DD would turn her straightener off, but whenever we came back to the room those types of items were completely unplugged. I guess they do so for safety reasons. :confused3 Not sure if all the room stewards do this, but ours did. :goodvibes

They did on both our cruises. I finally just relented and started unplugging them myself on the last (long) cruise because she was going to anyway! LOL So I figured what the heck- save her the trouble. ;)
(edited to add- hair dryer and straightener unplugged- we didn't have a cellphone plugged in but we did have DH's shaver charging and she never unplugged that. So I guess it's only things they think are dangerous to keep plugged in?)

Yes, you'll find a hair dryer there, but IMHO it's really pretty bad. It's sort of like a wand with very small airflow outlet and it gets so darn hot that it's nearly impossible to hold for more than a minute or two.

Better to bring your own. :)

Yes, they have a "Air Dryer" in the bathroom :lmao:. It is about the same as standing out on deck and letting your hair dry in the wind. :goodvibes So if you want a real hair dryer, you do have to bring your own. You can not plug them in in the bathroom though. The outlet will not power that much voltage. You will have to use them in front of your mirror at the vanity. Yes, they will unplug them even if not in use. They do use some power even if not turned on as well as if they were mistakenly left on, there is a fire hazzard. So bring it and then unplug it when you are done and you still can look like a movie star. Happy sailing.:hippie:

The hair dryer topic always cracks me up.:surfweb: They either must vary from state room to state room, or some of you people have a combo leaf-blower flame thrower at home. :scared1: The one in our cabin put out far too much heat and air, DD burned her scalp!! The one's in the state rooms are far more powerful than any I've ever owned at home.
Of course my other favorite part of the cruise is to watch:3dglasses the transitition over the course of the week of women who spend time at the start blow drying, straightening or curling their hair....and give up by the second or third day because you are in a windy, humid environment so everything is undone by mother nature 20 minutes later.

I don't really love the dryers on the ship...but I don't like my DD's at home. Guess I'm just used to mine. It does generate air and heat though....the one in the spa had a broken coil-y part.

19 disney cruises and have found all hair dryers in non-suites to be fair at best. in suites they supply regular plug-in type hair dryer but you must use it near a regular outlet. In cat 4 -12 the outlets are at the desk. In the suites they are in dressing area of master and inside tv cabinet in living area. can't remember if there is another one in the living area. Problem solved by bringing an extension cord. ditto on the unplugging things comment. Safety first.

That is great!!! However, I don't understand why they allow you to bring those items but not iron. :confused3

Because irons do not have an automatic shutoff and operate far hotter than curling irons and blow dryers.

We also brought a power strip. We would have been LOST without it.

I will be the one though that is still straightening her hair at the end of the Cruise.

Aussie 12 Hour Anti-Humidity Spray is the best!!!!
