Curious - why so little buzz for 2015?

Yes but it doesn't matter when booking :(

That's why when prices came out, the people who 'couldn't understand what the issue was because the prices seemed fine' just cracked me up. Yeah, sure.

Really? I thought Platinum got better prices :sad2: So aside from getting first choice on rooms and excursions, there really isn't much benefits to being platinum. That is truly insane.

I'm almost scared to see the price Baltic if it does happen:scared:

We were just talking about that today.

For 2A 1C Fantasy Eastern in a Cat 5E March 2013 booked opening day with OBB discount ~ $3100

For 2A 1C Fantasy Eastern in a Cat 5E March 8th, 2014 booked opening day with OBB discount ~ $4200

For 2A 1C Magic Western in a Cat 7A (secret verandah) March 8th, 2015 booked opening day with OBB discount ~ $5550

I'm not sure we're keeping that reservation (for other reasons, not just price). We can afford that, but not sure if we want to PAY it.

Regardless, we have given up cruise meet threads & FEs after 2014 anyways, but that's a different story......

When it gets to the point of being able to do two other trips for the price of one DCL a normal person would start to question it. We could justify the 5 n Wonder in March 2015. Couldn't the Fantasy and Magic since we want to do something in the summer as well.

Exactly. We like three trips a year and in June 2015 are planning DCL Alaska. I'm not ready to drop over 10K on just two DCL cruises. Insane (for us).

I wonder if this will ultimately drive prices down, with the #of dummy bookings dropping? We don't take advantage of the dummy bookings so it would be a plus for us, but would be a bummer for those that used to book every 2 years. cgolf

The number of OBB has plummeted according to a source. This is because of the new time limit and blackout dates.

Sorry to hear about the meet threads and FEs.

Our March 2013 Fantasy Eastern was $3300 for a 2A1C - Cat 8C

Our March 2015 Magic Western was $3850 for a 2A1C - Cat 11B :sad2:

Hi Silverfox97, We were just down the hall from you on that 2013 Fantasy cruise (sorry we didn't meet, plus you guys did an amazing job on the FE, for the record), and that pricing was what got us on the ship. I keep tracking the pricing now, hoping that we could get back onboard the Fantasy. We can't. I just can't justify the price, even at a lower stateroom level. I love the Disney product. But after our 2015 Magic cruise with family, I unfortunately suspect that we'll be done with princesses and pirates. It's just more money than we can spend. And circling back to the point of my original post, it seems that if there's a lack of buzz here, it surely must translate somehow into Disney's reservation numbers. Maybe the corp is just biding its time, reckoning that the cruisers will come. Yet I keep checking our booking to see if the price is changing, and it's not. At some point, they'll get concerned. I'll have to go chat with my marketing/finance buddies to see how they'd respond.

Someone told my DH that DCL will just keep raising prices - people are paying them. They'll just fill the ships with discounts closer to sailing if necessary. I believe this to be true.

Hi Kary -

Our cruise in 2013 was an Eastern, not a Western.

FB has ruined the fun of meet threads for us and the FE is a whole other story.....

If we keep the 2015 cruise, we'll see you aboard :)

We want Alaska as well. Plan though is to book air into Seattle and wait to book a cruise until after the PIF dates. The last minute deals last year on the ships leaving Seattle were pretty good. Add in a couple of days either side to explore Seattle and it should be awesome.

Sorry, must have been thinking about my 2011 cruise, it was a western.

I understand the FB thing and I was coordinator of my 2011 cruise FE so I understand that too.

it appears thatany date I picked for either Bahamas or Caribbean is booked solid for my specifications (family of 5).. cant wait for the 2nd half of 2015 to show...

if that means anything...

I think it is a combination of things.

Prices I am sure has lots to do with it.

Lack of moderators on the forum. Previous moderators did a great job of making people feel welcome and part of a community and without them it feels different.

Meet threads moving to Facebook, people are splitting their time or spending
less time on the DIS, creates less posts on threads and less interest.

Anyone have any ideas as to why the Disney Wonder 4 night cruises for April 2015 out of Miami are no longer showing on the Disney Cruise Line website? We booked the April 8th 4 night cruise that was suppose to go to Nassau, CC and Key West. I looked yesterday and the cruise was not showing on the website. My TA called Disney and they said that our cruise was still a go and showing on their computer system. I checked to night and there are 2 4 night Wonder cruises missing from the site. Again - was just wondering if anyone knew what might be going on....:confused3

I agree that the feel has definitely changed, more of a negative feel than even the recent past. At times it feels like the anti a DCL board. Not sure if this has led to less traffic or not, but it does seem that post numbers are down. I now only check once or twice a day now vs many times previously:(. Is a real bummer because I have gotten a ton of great advice on the board. Can't wait though till our Jan 2015 cruise on the Magic:) Not sure if we will book another cruise on our upcoming Fantasy cruise or wait till we are on the Magic in 2015.

ddeal1957 I was wondering the same thing. We cruise in Feb and I was thinking about booking the 4/8/2015 from Miami while on board and now I don't see it. I find it listed under the ship but not where I can book it.

Considering either a spring break Caribbean or July Alaska cruise in 2015. The BVI docking is intriguing. Not really sure how I feel about it ; for me, the BVI's are more about laid back fun and unspoiled vistas via a sailboat. Not sure about Alaska given the price; probably looking at > 10K for a family of 4 in a Veranda. Looking to see what boats RCCL and Celebrity will be sailing before committing to Disney...

Add us to the tapped out list. We've gone on a DCL cruise over spring break for the past 4 years. Next year will be our first year without the mouse. Our cruise (same basic itinerary, same category) was up 65%. It was the cost of a second vacation. We're deciding between NCL out of Galvestion and WDW for 2015.

Don't think it will be that high. I'm projecting a 5C room for 4 to cost $7,700 (with onboard rebooking 10% off). I'm guestimating based on opening day prices for the 2014 Alaska trips.

I hope you're right!

I priced out a 5a room for 4 (no discounts) for mid-July 2014 and it was 10,100. Assume it will be higher next year. This does include taxes/fees. But this wasn't opening day pricing. From what I have been hearing, opening day pricing hasn't been wowing anyone so far!

They show up if you click Bahamas, April 2015 without clicking on Wonder. Not sure why, but it has kept all those prices low. Shhhhh!

I think I previously saw two dates for the Wonder leaving out of Port Canaveral in March (that was not there last week). That seems to have disappeared as well.
