Curious - Why do the rooms keep changing?

My cruise is in 2 weeks and I have a VGT room booked, so I’ve been stalking the website daily (well, several times a day really) these past two weeks to see if anything has been assigned and also to look at which cabins are still available. I’ve noticed groups of cabins disappear from being available for a couple days but then all of a sudden pop back up as available again. Not always just 2 or 3 cabins, at one point no midship cabins with verandah were showing as being available but then 5 days later 10 came back as being available all at once. While I am ok with any room we are assigned, there are 5 cabins that I’m hoping to avoid. One day those 5 are not showing as being available (and I’m relieved) but then two days later they are back. It’s no big deal, I’m just curious as to what’s going on or if anyone knows the behind the scenes workings?

If you are looking through the DCL booking site, be aware they don’t show all available rooms - only about 8.

Rooms popping in-and-out may be for a couple of reasons. People may put a hold or simply pull that room when looking - and it doesn’t show again for s period of time. (This is often reported because someone is wanting to change to a specific room and then unintentionally locks it out before calling their TA.). Or it could be that DCL is working on inventory and/or room assignments and pulls a block offline.

Enjoy your cruise!

Since it seems like larger blocks of rooms disappearing and reappearing at a time then it likely is Disney working on inventory, I would guess.

So, I’ve been using the website to gauge which cabin we might be assigned, but it’s possible there are others available also that are just not showing?
I should probably stop looking and just be patient! I’m just anxious to get a cabin!

They usually assign the room 7-10 days before you set sail for VGT / OGT / IGT options
