Seems like early December is the time to go if you are DVC! :thumbsup2 Everyplace is booked for 2-bedrooms except OKW and SSR!

Just curious if anyone waitlisted last year for the early part of December, and actually had their waitlist come-through? Just trying to see if it's worth getting my hopes up, lol! :santa:

Gosh...if I had a choice of resorts, I'd choose the OKW 2-bedroom over any other resort's 2-bedroom villa. They are quite a bit larger and most have great views. Just wanted to toss that out, as I'd never waitlist for another resort if OKW was available- if I want a larger villa.---Kathy

While the large size of the rooms is nice, location is more important to us. We don't spend a ton of time in the room, so to be on the monorail near the MK with 2 small children is worth it's weight in gold! ;)

Last year, I had second week of Dec. booked at my home resort, but put myself on the waitlist for the BLT the moment it became available. Didn't come through.

ahhh....yes - the waitlist for December. We had SSR booked for 12/6 - 14. We waitlisted BWV for the last few nights of our trip. About a week before we were to leave, checking on the website, where our vacation was listed, it showed that BWV had become available for 12/9 and beyond. But, no - we hadn't read it correctly. In my excitement, the night of the 9th had come through, the night of the 10th wasn't available and had us back at SSR. And then the nights of 12/11 through the end of our stay was back at BWV. Confusing? yes. In my excitiement at seeing BWV become available, I didn't see that they had us moving back and forth between SSR & BWV. (the night of the 10th was so booked up because it was the night of the ESPN College football awards).

Even though MS says they won't "do that" they did it to us. So the only thing available was a Grand Villa. So the 4 of us stayed in a GV at BWV for one night (& ate up waaay too many points!) Otherwise, we would have had to go back to SSR for just one night and the thought of moving way back there didn't appeal to us.

Sorry - long. The point is - stay on top of things with your waitlist. Double check everything. Call MS often. I wish I'd checked somewhere to see what was happening at the Boardwalk and whether our WL had a chance. We would have been happy to stay at SSR until the 11th and just had the BWV for the last 4 nights.

We went last year Dec. 6 - 11 and had a one bedroom at SSR booked. We WL'ed a one bedroom at AKV Jambo and Kidani and eventaully got it. I think we were about five months out when we our one bedroom AKV Kidani.

Two weeks ago we called to have a one bedroom at AKV Jambo and Kidani WL'ed for the week of Thanksgiving. This past weekend we found out that we got our WL for Kidani.

Whenever we do a WL we make sure that it is set up to switch us only if all of our nights become available.

Had a studio for 10 nights at SSR booked and was able to get WLV for the whole amount!!

For those who's WL came through, specifically for VWL, how long were you on the list before it came through?

We would really like to stay @ VWL and hope oue WL comes through

Have been to OKW for last 5 xmas weeks, booked at 11 months. Tried to change at 7 months last 2 years (AKL and BCV) and was unsuccessful.

Last Oct. we decided to go December 11-14. This was the same weekend that the D23 Magic and Merriment event was taking place. We were only able to get a 1 bdr at OKW. We were looking for a studio so I can't say if any 2 bdr's or GV's were available. Anyway, we waitlisted at OKW and SSR for a studio. That WL came through so we decided to WL for a SV studio at Kidani. That too came through.

Last year was sort of atypical. We were still pretty shaken by the economy. Consumer confidence was down and there seemed to be more "unlikely availability" stories than ever before. I suspect this year will be more typical.

(But there are ALWAYS people that cancel, so there is ALWAYS hope for a waitlist).

Last year we were planning to go to VGC in early Dec, but the plan fell through so at the 6 month point we reserved SSR and were WL'd for BLT or BWV for 12/1/09-12/6/09. No luck on the WL, but at less than 7 days prior we were able to call and get the first 3 nights at BCV.

Let's see, I got 4 days instantaly and had to waitlist the rest. I think I got 2 more right away. Then I believe the last 4 I decided to do day by day as I figured I'd have a better chance of chipping away at it instead of all 4 becoming available at once. This worked really well and I know by probably 3-4 months out....I had all of my days.

I've got a two bedroom at BWV checking in Sunday, December 5th and checking out Friday, December 10th.

From the looks of things, I may be calling in another day or two to cancel because our plans are all falling through.

If I have to cancel, I'll do so early in the morning and then post it here so that one of you can call in and see if you can snag any/all of the days.

Will let you know . . .
