I was looking at the pictures and video at Orlando Rocks

Then I went back and seen the ones at IOA Central

I noticed that Chris & Russ both were set up in the same area of the parade, now what caught my eye was all the balloons were only about 7 feet off the ground. In their pictures, is that how it looks going through Production Central? Because in My Pictures they were like 30 feet off the ground. I was curious as to why it's different in New York.

It was weird when I seen that, it looks dumb in Production Central only 7 feet off the ground. Anyone know why it was done that way.

I could be wrong (considering that I havn't even seen the Macy's parade), but the floats could be lower in that area of Production Central because that's where the parade starts. After coming out of the soundstage (which is where I assume the floats are housed) the floats would have to be flown lower to the ground, and eventually raised higher as the parade progresses.

Of course, just my uneducated guess.

I did notice that. The first week I saw it, they were lower. This last week I saw it in NY and they were higher. I don't know why, but this seems to be the trend.

That would mean that New York is the best spot to view the parade.

Yes... unless of course you want to slip out early for a few Hulk and DD rides. :p

It's all about the wind and how the buildings affect the balloons. The wind resistance is better at the start of the parade, and that's why you see the balloons go up and down at certain points.
