IMO all DVC rooms are now and will become even more difficult to book as Disney adds additional events, specials, hours, and other changes that increase attendance. I was recently told that 25% of DVC bookings are with cash.

Please explain how that can be? I thought it had to be points traded into other options opened up cash rooms.

Maybe if AK and AKL/V were more connected, like the MK resorts are to MK. But since AK is accessible only by bus from all the resorts, including AKL/V, I don't see a big impact.

I agree. Once you have to choose a bus, you are at the mercy of the bus schedule. If you could walk there, then I would say it would make a difference -- but since that is not the case, I don't think it will matter one bit.

There are additional ways including points owned by DVC or DVD. But the inventory demand is not linear, some times are more in demand than others.
