I disagree. OP posted something rather distasteful about someone on this board. It needed to be addressed.

There is nothing right about questioning ones mental abilities to a communtiy that said person belongs to. Why not just pm some random poster or the member in question?

Thats what I was questioning. Seems a lot of people are getting their knickers in a knot over this fella. It was a honest question and in my opinion, the people here who have jumped down her throat are no better than they accuse her of being.

YOU figured out who I was referring to as well as almost everyone else that has replied and I did not even mention his name so I guess the subject matter rang a little bell and you figured it out because all of you have wondered as well. And yes "he" even figured it out!! I have received a boatload of PM's thanking me for asking this because they had also been wondering also.

Her original question was simply whether or not FC's posts were a joke or not. Based on our answers, she'd then know how to answer (or not to answer at all). I believe she had absolutely no intention of causing this.

I can't speak for everyone, but I find FC's posts interesting, to say the least. But, I am also very skeptical of what I read online. I just think that some people don't like to be made fools of - and if they buy into the whole thing, that's what might happen.

Yes, the chances of it ever truly affecting one's life are slim - but let's face it - anything can happen.

I hope he's on the level. For him and for everyone who supports him. I'd hate to see an entire online community find out they were deceived after all their kindhearted words of support. I can only imagine the thread that would come out after that type of scenario.

Questioning someone's mental status publicly, in a public community which the person in question is a member, is inappropriate, even if it is thinly disguised as an "innocent" lmao: ) question about "a certain poster " on the DIS.

Reminds me of the "I'm just saying" crowd, who feel they can say/ask/comment about anything they want because, after all, they're just saying.

I am NOT trying to be mean at all but I really have been wondering about a certain poster on here and his "mental" ability. I would PM someone but I don't know who to pm about him. I have researched past posts and I know he goes to WDW quite a bit has a "job" of some kind and I know he seems to be a grown man according to the pictures I have seen but after reading many many posts I have always wondered if it was all a joke or if there is a problem there. I have come close to posting joke remarks but then again I am not sure it IS a joke. You might ask what does it matter? Well...because I don't want to post a reply that would be in bad taste if this poster has a mental problem. Now...How do I tell you the posters name withOUT telling you the posters name??? Ummmmmm...think Pepe le Pew in a Disney sort of way. I hope I am not offending anyone. I really do not have that intention at all. I just was hoping for some answers so I will know how to "properly" reply to their posts.

There are fake posts on the DIS. Posters who create alter egos for a laugh. Anyone remember Dixie Amos? I don't think her question was out of line. There was a time I wasn't sure about DA and asked. She wasn't sure about FC...can you blame her? Why would she assume he is mentally challenged...especially when he says he isn't. She asked her question respectfully. If FC willingly posts like a child (which he admits to) he needs to get used to the response he will get and that it won't always be positive. He has said himself he doesn't mind if people question him as long as they do it respectfully.

I recently made a judgemental post about a poster and I didn't think it would hurt her feelings it was just a sensative subject for me. I didn't stop and think about how it could affect the other person's feelings. I've been on the DIS boards since 1998 and that is the first time that I posted from the heart without thinking and I'll never do it again. I did send along my appologies with an explanation to the OP. I think it made her feel better, but the damage was already done.

Anyways, I happened to like the pics and stories of the poster in question so I hope he's not too offended to post again.

If the thread is going to stay, it should stay with the original post, so that others who come on board to read it understand what the discussion is about. When the OP deleted her post, she did not eliminate, by virtue of other comments already made and kept in this thread, the identity of the DISer in question.

Excuse me but I DID NOT write anything about Perla OR him being a vegan. I did not even know that he IS a vegan. The closest thing I came to saying the name was to think about Pepe le Pew in a Disney sort of way. EVERYONE else figured out the rest. PLEASE get your facts correct before accusing me of writing something that I did not write!!!!!!!!!!!!

I suspect this thread will be closed eventually, but it is interesting that it's staying open so long.

It's really crazy how the DIS has suddenly turned into two radical political parties over one little thing. I don't know that there are any moderate camps with this issue.
