Cure for teenager's STINKY feet

My sons developed foot fungal infections sometime in their Scout camping days. One DS still quotes the lab report from his culture of some fungus "which may contaminate man." Podatric treatment may be in order. Good luck!

I agree, you'll most likely have to get rid of all shoes because they're already smelly. I also heard the bit about crumpled newspaper; it supposedly absorbs moisture in the shoes & that's what helps cause odors. Shoes are actually supposed to be worn every other day to allow for drying out. But who can really do that??? Also clean socks every day too but I assume he's already doing that. Good luck!

Oh, I've tried the newspaper myself. Seems to help.

we are having the same issues with our 12 year old son. YUCK!! His feet smell so bad, sometimes I can smell them with his shoes on. I think the smell has permanently imbedded itself into his shoes! We got the Odor-X foot spray and he has been using that for a couple of days and it really helps. No odors yet!

HELP How do we cure my son's foot odor???

he recently returned from a two week hiking trip. His boots stink. His sneakers stink. I get that. He's been home for two days - bathed 1st day & showered the second. He swears he washed his feet with soap - he's 16, you have to specify. He removed his shoes in the car today & his feet still reek! He was wearing dress shoes & socks which were no where near his hiking trip. It's definitely trapped in his feet.
Is there anything to get rid of that stench???

I am subscribing, because my 14 year old daughters feet and dance shoes just might kill me:sick:

I make her soak them in hydrogen peroxide and she sprays them with Dr. Scholls foot spray. The shoes get sprayed with febreeze (but it doesn't help)

I about die when she gets in the car after dance class.

This reminded me of a story. My sons dont generally have stinky feet, but if they wear sneakers without sock, for several days in a row, then they STINK! I hadnt noticed that DS13 was having this issue, and we boarded a plane for a 16 hour flight. About an hour into the flight I smelled it:scared1: and I was sitting across the aisle and over a few seats:scared1:. I got his attention and made him put his shoes back on, but it was too late, the stink had been released:scared1: we just ignored it, didnt know what to do:confused3. Then one of the flight attendants came with a spray and sprayed the floor area all around us:rotfl: It was embarrassing, but it took the stink away! I wish I knew what that spray was.

this might sound weird. You can get rid of the odor in the shoes by freezing them. Stick them in a bag in the freezer for a few days and it will kill whatever is causing them to smell.

DD19 still has horribly stinky feet and am subscribing too. She got embarrassed this year in her dorm and we have tried so many things. Deodorant sprayed on feet, baking soda in shoes, foot spray, Febreze, etc. She mostly wears flip flops now so it's not bad but as soon as she has to wear closed toed shoes, forget it.

I found that where I purchase their shoes makes a difference. I can not purchase cheap shoes like from payless shoes. Those reek within 2 weeks. Also I find that Skeckers (sp) also stink really bad for my boys.

I hope the OP's son doesn't have stinky feet after 2 years... or at least has found a way to make the smell a bit more bearable by now.
