I don't know if anyone else feels like I do, but I am really getting tired of the negativity on these boards. I used to love to come here to "chat" with others about my favorite place but lately I only skim the topics. Many of the posters are not only negative, they are downright nasty. I am not sure why it is allowed to continue, but it makes me sad to see what the DIS is becoming.

There is still a current of positivity here and I am hoping it can take root and grow. So, from now on I will post my thoughts when/if I want to. I warn you all now...they tend to be glass-half-full, postive, bright side kind of thoughts. (After a health scare a few years ago it is hard for me to be any other way.) If someone wants to call me out or react negatively to what I have to say that is fine. It is their right. I will not, however, be responding to them. I haven't blocked anyone, nor do I intend to do so. I just won't be responding. I encourage anyone else who feels as I do to do the same.

The Disney parks have always been a wonderful place for us to vacation, spend time together, enjoy the legacy of Disney and just be. They will continue to do so with MM+ because we choose to make it so. We actually like the program, but for those that don't I encourage you to stop complaining and try to see the bright side. You are only affecting your own enjoyment of a place that you love and that's a shame.

Oddly enough, I still believe there is a chance we may yet influence how the final system ends up working.

Plenty of positive threads (from just today, even!)

WDW wasting all their money on "My Magic". I don't think so.

Just got back and it was amazing! re MagicBands

how did you surprise your kids?

It's all about what you choose to read. :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 Totally agree

That's the problem. Most people don't see the bright side because there isn't one. Sure, the MM technology is cool, and as I've said several times, if it were used and Fastpass was left alone, nobody would have a word to say about it.

I get what you're saying, but you need to understand, you're in the minority in terms of how you tour the park. And you're also going off the system not fully into place with all the restrictions that are coming. Once it is tiered, and regular FP's are gone, and you can't use FP in more than 1 park in the same day, you'll probably have a difference of opinion.

It's just not one of those situations where you can say "Hey, you're at Disney. It's great no matter what!!" I used to feel that way, and I really try not to be negative, but FP+ is just such a crappy downgrade for the way we (and most families) tour the parks, there's just no silver lining to this one.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, whether it be positive or negative.

We may love Disney, but all of us have a breaking point where we can no longer give them a free pass. Frankly, posts telling people to be more positive are pretty obnoxious. There's no need to be so self righteous.

I totally understand the frustrations some people are having in regards to MM+ & FP+, and they have every right to express their opinion as such. But I agree that some are just downright nasty and rude (and that really goes for both "sides" here) and I just don't see why it's necessary.

We had family members just return from WDW.

First time visitors and they really like the FB+.

I never told them anything prior to their trip so this was their honest, non-biased opinion.

I'm going to be positive when I get there. I truly need to experience this for myself to give an opinion.

I agree also. We're all so blessed to have an opportunity to go to Walt Disney World. Not everyone is able to go and there are thousands of people that die everyday and never had an opportunity. Yes, there are bad things that happen and much to complain about concerning Disney, i.e. increasing prices, crowds, rude people, but we're still blessed and should be thankful.

Hoping everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

This, exactly This.

I don't mind the negative opinions about WDW or the technology. They're certainly entitled to their opinions. But I've become very tired of how some of the posters are treated. That's why I seldom come anymore. The condescension, smugness, if you don't live and breathe WDW you're an idiot, type of thing. It's not always the nicest place to be. Extremely judgemental.

It's pretty well established that people are far more likely to complain about something they dislike than they are to praise something that surpasses expectations. Add to that the fact that MB, MDE and FP+ are huge changes, it's all still being rolled out and we don't know what the end game will be, and you have a recipe for complaints. As an IT professional and a Baby Boomer I know first hand how confusing these systems can be to non-techies in my age group and how difficult it is to get something like this right. Most people resist change, particularly if it appears they're losing something or are getting the short end, see the 'Double Dipping' threads for example.

When I seek advice here and there are a number of replies, some recommending a thing and some against it I have no difficulty weeding out the negatives, nothing is universally liked by everyone.

If you don't want to read the negative posts or respond to negativity, DON'T. No need to announce to the world that you're not going to.

Are you saying that because you agree with the original comment, or because it is the classic example of negativity and not respecting other people's viewpoints?

To me, it's the latter.

And I bet you were either there on a light crowd time, and or not staying at POP the last few weeks.

True.

I do think there are lots of positives on this board, more so than negatives. Magic bands are new and people are having issues with them it is nice to get a heads up of what is going on.

No?

So start some feel good threads, preferably about something other than Magic Bands or Fastpass+.

Oddly enough, I still believe there is a chance we may yet influence how the final system ends up working.

I agree with you 100% on this! This being that we may be able to change the end result by speaking up.

I am a glass half full person myself and generally have a positive outlook on life. However, when there is something I run across in the course of life that I do not like (in this case FP+), I will speak up. Maybe it is the glass half full side of me that thinks that if I do speak up, companies or people will listen and things will change for the better.

In the case of Disney, they have whole teams assigned to keep track of the internet, social media, message boards, etc. Here is to hoping Disney sees what folks don't like about the new system and does something about it.
