Anyone do anything fun/interesting in Curacao?

It will be me, DH, DS (10), and DD(7). We are currently booked for the Hato Caves and Landhouse excursion through DCL. Haven't read anything very positive about this excursion.

Any other ideas?

TIA!

Join us on the Bounty -- sailing on Tuesday just for people on the Disney Magic pirate:

Just waiting for my confirmation from them before I cancel the DCL Spanish snorkel I booked.

Hi DisneyElf!

We are going snorkeling in Cabo so I was thinking about something different in Curacao. I'm also wondering if we are going to be sick of being on the water with so many sea days?

I'll check it out!

Thanks!

When is the Magic in Cuacao? We will be there on RC Adventure. It might break my heart to see her. I would be interested in what there is to do there. Someone suggested day passes at Breezes--is this adult only?

Thanks.

I highly recommend snorkeling in Curacao. We snorkeled there and in Cabo on the westbound repo cruise and Curacao's snorkeling was so much better. The water was much more clear, calmer, and blue instead of green. The fish were also a lot more colorful.

In Curacao, we went with Bounty Adventures. They were fantastic! They were cheaper than Disney's excursion, lasted longer, had two sites instead of one, and included a great BBQ and bar service instead of just drinks.

Thanks for the info! The Magic will be in Curacao for the Eastbound repo cruise in August.

Thanks!

We spent 2 weeks in Curacao a couple of years ago....another great place to take kids is the SeaAquarium. You can easily do that on your own. Go across the floating bridge, into town and have a taxi take you there. It's only about 20 minutes (at the most) from the colorful shopping area that you see pictures of....right across the bay from the ship.

My only concern about the Sea Aqarium is that we have been to some good ones in the U.S. (Baltimore, MD; Tampa, FL; Sea World, etc). I'm thinking that the one in Curacao wouldn't be anything special. Is is different from most we would see in the U.S.? I'm trying to do something different.

Thanks so much!

It really isn't so much the SeaAquarium itself that you go there for. It's all the other things there are to do there, and the protected beach. There are a couple of places to have lunch (it's right next to the Lion's Dive Hotel) , a few shops, an enclosed snorkeling area for beginners to intermediates...and they give you food to feed the fish that are in there. They have sea turtles and sharks (in different enclosures)...and I'm told that they now have a dolphin program. There's a "sunken" boat that you can go into and stay dry, yet see what's going on underwater........
You can feed the sharks at one exhibit, they have flamingoes, birds, and yes....fish in the various aquariums.
But, for the most part, it became our favorite place to go to snorkel and just hang out.
I do know what you mean....we've seen a few of some of the really great aquariums in the U.S. This is not at all the same.

Thank you so much for the additional information! I will check it out!

Thanks!

Anyone do the Canoe and Snorkel Safari in Curacao or at least hear any comments about it?
