Cupcakes

I haven't had one, but I heard really good things about the Black Forest Cupcake. I believe it's at Contempo Cafe in The Contemporary. I've seen pictures on here and they look amazing. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. ;)

There is a brand new cupcake shop in Downtown Disney in the building formerly housing the Mcdonalds. I have heard they are REALLY good.

Babycakes Cupcakes in Downtown Disney are all natural, organic, refined sugar-free, wheat, gluten, dairy, soy and egg free. They are great for people with allergies or who choose a vegan option.
If you are looking for the tastiest cupcake in all of Disney, I would go for "real" deal with sugar and eggs and stuff :rolleyes1

We stayed 2 nights at CR last summer, and I had one of these both nights!!! So incredibly yummy!!!!!!

Haven't been but did some research a bit ago as I am stalking the cupcakes on this upcoming trip....

Starring Rolls in DHS has some good ones I hear, as well as the Contempo Cafe in CR.

Another vote for both these places. Especially Contemp Cafe.

i love the rich devil's food cake one at the Polynesian resort at Captain Cooks. It's so devine. -and not sickening sweet. it has mickey sprinkles too!

I agree with this! The vanilla one is very good too...super moist!

You are referring to Babycakes, which is inside Pollo Campero and Fresh-A-Peel. Their cupcakes are delicious as they are moist with a creamy frosting! If you have egg and/or gluten allergies as I do, their baked goods are all egg free, gluten free, wheat free, and dairy free. Definitely try Babycakes if you are in Downtown Disney!

I saw so many cupcake posts and pictures before I went in September that I had to try one. I tried the White Chocolate Elephant Cupcake from AK Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery. I actually got one 'to go' but it took them awhile to find a 'to go' box. (on another note, I tried this at Starring Rolls too but they said they I had to ask a restaurant for a to go box - what's up with that??)

So how was it? OK. I love coconut but this really didn't have a ton of coconut flavor. The cupcake was fine but the frosting is way too sugary sweet for me. My daughter liked the white chocolate elephant lollipop. In the end though, we had 3 of us poking at it and we didn't finish it. Not because it was too big but because it was only OK.

So that, and the difficulty getting to-go boxes, turned me off of the cupcake search. I did however try the carrot cake cookie from the writer's stop in HS and THAT was worth it! They gave us a to go bag - no issues there, and it is much larger and more filling than a cookie. The 'cookie' is actually a very soft cookie and it is filled with cream cheese frosting.

Avoid the cupcake at the caramel shop in Germany-- not good! I really enjoyed the cupcakes at Starring Rolls in DHS.

The chocolate/vanilla vegan cupcake at Babycakes in DTD is good too.

We just got back last week, and our favourites (me and DD) were the Red Velvet and marble cupcakes at Starring Rolls at HS, and definitely the vanilla/caramel ones at the caramel shop in Germany. I want one right now!:goodvibes

Butterfinger Cupcake at Starring Rolls. Moist cake with just the right amount of sweetness...yum! I think I could have eaten the entire cupcake but stopped myself at half. The cupcakes here are huge!

We got a marble cupcake at Starring ROlls last year and it was awesome. We also picked one up at Main Street Bakery (don't recall what kind) and it was just as good.

I couldn't wait to try the elephant cupcake. It's too bad it was only okay. So is the elephant pure white chocolate or a lolllipop dipped in white chocolate?

Also, I would love to try the carrot cake cookie. Thank you for sharing how great it is! :thumbsup2

You can stop looking! The best cupcake is the vanilla cupcake at Roaring Fork in WL. You will see other cupcakes that look the same at other resorts but there is no comparison. I had one 3 days in a row (on a 3 day trip) last August.

Oh my goodness, I agree!!!! Everything at the Roaring Fork bakery section is incredible! I think they make their own baked goods? We also love their Magic Kingdom bars. Even when we aren't staying at the WL, we go over for some of their baked goods. I wants some right now!!! :goodvibes

They run about $4.00 and yes they are on the dining plan as a snack credit.
I have a few of these on my list to try in December:banana:
