My family and I will be driving from CT to Myrtle Beach next week. We plan on leaving on a Sunday at around 5:00 a.m and returning the following Saturday. I'm hoping all you experienced long-distance drivers can offer any advice and tips to make this trip go smoothly! Thanks for your help

I assume you're taking I95? Prepare for traffic - make sure you check for construction and locations of rest areas before you go.

As for the driving itself - books, dvds, music, coloring, hand held games, lots of snacks (gum included) - stuff to keep the kids busy.

My DD loved her magic erase board when she was younger.

Thank you. Yes, we are going 95. I'm hoping since we're leaving on a Sunday, traffic and construction won't be too much of a problem. The kids are 11 and 13, so DVDs and Ipods and tons of food are enough to entertain them. I'm just trying to convince myself, this isn't going to be as bad of a ride as I'm anticipating.

It wont be - your kids are old enough to self entertain, not have to pee every hour and realize it won't be a short drive.

I grew up in CT - roughly where are you coming from?
