I heard on 92.5 (yes the country station) this morning that he was told to appear at some hearing.

but if he didn't show up - no problem.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I haven't been paying close attention to the scandal recently.

From what I think I heard, though, wasn't he just ordered to testify by the State Supreme Court on Friday?

Wonder why he decided to resign now? Like someone else is fond of saying, "If it quacks like a duck..."

Talk to me about Ganim. I went to law school with one of the Ganim brothers (I think his name was Mike). Which one was mayor and how did he fall from grace?

Joseph Ganim

Taking bribes I believe.

Joseph Ganim was mayor of Bridgeport......caught in corruption scandal (don't know all the details) .....serving 9(?) years in prison in NJ somewhere I think.....

Ganim accepted money, improvements to his home, etc. for gov't contracts.

I know a lot of people from Bridgeport. They were really upset over his conviction. He really did a LOT of good for Bridgeport, getting rid of the "bad" public housing, new Arena, etc. He was a very "public" man and very in touch with his people.

I was called to jury duty for Giordano's trial. I couldn't go that day, too busy at work. Just think of the "stories" I could have shared if I went!!

really - what jury wouldn't convict him...you know? thought he was a scum bag (pardon my french) the minute i moved into waterbury. Thank god I'm out of that city now.
