Can anyone please give me any ideas about quieter rooms at CSR?
I took the plunge and booked 6 nights at CS in Jan 2005.
It will be myself, my DD 6 and DH and we're travelling from the UK.
I'm uncertain as to whether I'll be able to fax through a request any way as we arranged the holiday through Virgin but intend to give it a try

I've read the room preference notes posted on the AllEars website and am a little confused as to what to put as my main preference, and why!
Sorry if that sounds confusing
Basically, my DH is registered disabled as the result of a longstanding brain tumour and finds walking long distances difficult sometimes (stairs are no problem). I am his registered carer and, as such, don't really like to leave him alone for long periods of time or be too far away when DD and myself go off to do things.
I guess that what I would like is a quiet room, not too far away from the pool / playground but also not miles away from the bus stops, reception area, restaurants etc.
Does such a place exist and, if it does, what should I ask for?
Any input would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Alison

I've never experienced one room to be quieter than the others and I've never experienced other guests being to loud that they woken us up during the night.

cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site over the wooden bridge

cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building.

cabana 8b and 9a are inbetween the 2 above.

ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

The casitas are close to the gym, spa and have great fountains and courtyards. casita 5 is close to the Dig Site with a good walk to the main building. The lower the casita number the closer towards the main building.

Wow, thanks for that :D
I've already checked out your website and found it really useful (except for deciding which rooms might be quieter ;) )
I guess quieter during the day might be more of an issue for us than at night as DH often needs to rest during the day - saying that, when he needs to sleep he sleeps, regardless of any noise :p
Before reading the threads I'd have probably put in a preference for a ground floor room. Now I know not to.

We stayed at CSR and the resort is hugh. I cannot walk long distances either. At check in we requested a wheelchair and received one free of charge. We were able to keep it the entire length of our stay and used it for me to get around the resort. Just the walk to breakfast was very long and too much for me. We were also able to take it to the parks and downtown Disney. As far as we could tell we couldn't rent one at Downtown Disney so this was especially nice. We love CSR but could never do it without a wheelchair.
