We are going to try CSR this time, any suggestions on which building to stay at. Also, how are the restaurants there?

I would suggest Cabanas 9A or B, it's right next to El Centro, the Pepper Market and close to the Dig Site and bus stop #1.
I had asked BUzz this same question a few days ago and he also recommended the one near bus stop #4. (I can't find my email now about ti, and all I can remember is bus stop #4!)

I thought the food was pretty good and we would order it and take it back to our room with us so DD's coudl watch TV. One time we took it and ate it out at the tables by the dig site.

Bus stop #4 is located near 8A or 8B in Cabanas. There is a wonderful thread dedicated to CSR, do a search and it should come up, you will find EXCELLENT information there!

My family likes the cabana section but it all comes down to personal preference. Cabana 9b is close to everything. Cabana is close to everything but has a short walk to the main building. Ranchos 7b is right behind 8a so it to is close to everything and has a bit longer walk to the main building.

We stayed in the Casitas, building 5, last October and loved it !
Casitas was my first choice , with the Cabanas being second. I guess the theming of the Casitas just appealed to us more.

We were "fairly" close to a bus stop,(#2) but it could have been way worse. It was only a slight problem in the evenings when our feet were tired.

There was a long a long walk to the restaurants and lobby. But that is easily enough solved by hoping a bus that will take you around to bus stop 1 which is in front of the lobby.
Or you could walk around the inner courtyards, which is BEAUTIFUL and enjoy the scenery.

The Pepper Market is eye appealing, but we found the food to be just "okay".
On the other hand, Maya Grill is FABULOUS !!!!
My DH still raves about our meal there, and even though we are trying a new resort this time around, we are planning one of our meals back at the Maya Grill.

I'm certain you will love CSR. The theme pool is wonderful, and the transportation was great as well.Enjoy your trip!

We stayed in Ranchos 7B in May. It was a great location. We were right by the quiet pool. The Dig Site was a short 2 minute walk. We could actually see it from our room. The bus stop was right by our building also. I love the feel of the Ranchos section and was very nice and quiet after a long day in the parks!!
