CSR Using Pts (Hopefully)

The DH and I have sold SSR and BOUGHT at VWL, sending off our check today, hopefully we'll be in the system by Mid-November, already have cash ressies at CSR for the first week of December---what are the odds of cancelling the cash ressie and using our pts to book at CSR OR getting REAL lucky and snagging a room at VWL I know, I know that's not likely, but a girl can dream Does CSR usually fill to the max that week, like all the DVC Resorts do?

I don't have points chart in front of me. But, I believe the pts per night in the Disney Collection is about 2 or 3 times as much as staying in a DVC unit. That's a big price to pay.

If it were me, I'd try to get DVC unit somewhere or 'rent' out your points to help defray the cost of the cash ressie at CSR.

Point cost, 1 week, first week december:

CSR-studio-std view - 138 pts
VWL " " - 104 pts
OKW " " - 80 pts

I would think it very unlikely you'd be able to get into VWL

VWL is the most popular December DVC, and also the smallest DVC. Chances of getting into that for early December is slim to none. Going on a waitlist for ANY DVC would be your best chance, but bear in mind that points used for CSR when cancelled, become reservation points and NOT DVC points. The points have already been exchanged out of DVC and into the Disney Collection, so that is where those points remain.

Is there currently availability for your dates for cash at the CSR? If not, you won't be able to use your points there - can't just change your reservation from cash to points. There has to be availability.

Nope, currently no availability at CSR---period, I know that changes from time to time, and we had already made our minds up to pay the cost of the stay, so we're ok with that---just thought, gee, it sure would be GREAT to save that $$$ and use pts!! Either way, it'll be CHRISTMAS at WDW, and I for one am ready to go!!!!!

THANK YOU! We are SO happy to be owners VWL---it's like a dream come true for us, I know all the resorts are awesome, but to us, NOTHING compares to VWL!
