If I get a standard view, which can either be the parking lot or the courtyard, how bad is the view if I get stuck with the parking lot?

Also, if I really want in Casitas 4 or 5, do I request 4th floor since I think only the Casitas have a 4th floor?

How long of a walk is it to the Dig Site pool from Casitas 4 or 5?

Thanks!

You can always request what you would like . Sometimes you get lucky . Parking lot rooms are aways tough never a great view. Even the courtyard can e bad. Just remember you are not in your room all the time. Ask when you check sometimes they will help you. Good luck have a wonderful time.

The view is what you see through your window. I personally don't leave the curtains open very much when we are in the room, so the view category doesn't matter too much to me. The CSR grounds are beautiful especially at night and we like to go and sit on a bench or lay in a hammock and soak in the ambiance. The walk around the lake is cool as is walking from section to section seeing the different styles. We try to stay in the Cabanas section. CSR is a great resort.

We haven't stayed at CSR yet, but I am pretty sure it is like the other moderates where we have stayed. At CBR, POR and POFQ have such lush and beautiful landscaping that there is really no direct, unobstructed view of the parking lot. There is always some beautiful green space between the rooms and the parking lots. We always get a standard view when staying moderate because as DebbieB stated, there's no balcony. In order to have a view, we would have to leave the curtains open and everybody walking by can see in our room. We always leave the curtains closed so to us, we don't have a view. When we want to lounge around the resort, we aren't actually IN our room. We are walking the grounds, swinging in a hammock, laying on the beach, having coffee on a bench, etc.

In June, we requested Casitas 4 or 5, top floor. We got ground floor of Casitas 2! The Dig Site was so far away we never ventured there; just stuck with the quiet pool.
And on the ground floor, the view didn't matter because we never opened the curtains!:confused3

Actually not the case with CSR. We stayed in a Cabanas standard, parking lot view last trip and looked directly out to the cars. That being said, we also were mere steps away from our bus stop which we found very convenient! We loved CSR and are staying again in Sept.!

When we stayed at CSR, we had a standard (parking lot) view in the back of the Ranchos section.

It actually wasn't bad as we had a view of the bus stop from our window (so we could wait for the bus in our room and run out to catch it when it came).

I personally don't think it's worth paying extra for a view in a mod (paying extra for a preferred location is a different story).
