I have a standard view at CSR for five nights in January for $781. Would you upgrade to upper tower view for an additional $495? Are the views THAT spectacular? Other than location (location, location) for dining and transportation, are there any other benefits that come with a tower room that wouldn't be included with a standard view?

If my only choices were standard or tower, I'd choose tower.

My choice above either of those 2 would be Preferred.

Is it worth another $495? No, it isn't. The tower rooms are very pretty but unless you get incredibly lucky your view won't be anything to write home about and certainly not something to spend an additional $495 on.

Also, can I ask what your dates are and what discount you have? Because it's possible you might be able to get a better resort for an additional $495.

I would never choose a tower room for the view.

I’d choose a tower room just to be close to dining/lobby and probably only in the hot summer months, because I hate walking around CSR in the heat. :crazy2:

In January, I’d probably save my money and choose standard.

I'm the weird one and go standard instead of tower. I have a preferred booked for early December and could have gotten tower for almost the same price. The rooms may, I'm not sure, be a tad bit bigger in the tower and you don't have to walk outside in the rain but otherwise I don't see any benefits. As far as transportation, it's the last stop to pick up going to the parks, that means if it's a crowded day there is a good chance you aren't getting on the bus. I don't find it that far to walk from anywhere on property but I'm a walker so it's no big deal. I'll add I'm not young, 66 1/2 so it's not like I have young legs. The only reason I booked a preferred room was it and the tower were all that was available for that week with my AP discount. Now, if the tower had a balcony, that might be a different story but I find if I don't have a balcony I rarely stand at the window and look at the view.
