Are there preferred rooms at CSR, or is price based on the view/suite/club level? Looking strongly at CSR for our upcoming October trip and trying to select a village for family. Leaning heavily towards the cabanas based on proximity to El Cientro and the dig site...

No, there are no preferred rooms at the CSR. You pay for standard, waterview, king, junior suite, executive suite; you are UNABLE to book Club Level--this is for convention guests only (however, if there is no convention they could possibly put you in one of those rooms but you will not have access to the Club Level services). Check out the CSR Unofficial Faq thread on page 1 which lists "suggestions" for buildings to request based on your needs.

We love CSR and always pay for a standard view and have been lucky enough to always get a water view in Casitas (our favorite section) just by asking if there were any available.
