CSR room requests

I gather that with CSR being so huuuge its a good idea to request a room in a specific area/building.

Has anyone done this from the UK? in the resorts forum they seem to say that this can only be done by fax? is that the case, if so how did you send a fax from here? I dont have a fax machine, and threw away my last old fax modem years ago. We obviously still have fax machines at work for I dont think I'd be too popular sending one to america from work!

any suggestions?!

I plan to send a fax about 3-4 days before i go and request a certain room block. (Alligator Bayou at POR Riverside)
I don't have a fax machine either so i plan on heading to my local library.

I read on Tourguidemike that the resorts find faxes a bit annoying and prefer that any requests are added to your booking. Not sure how true that is but may be worth a try and cheaper/easier than sending a fax to the US. I plan to just see where we end up as I don't have a preference for any particular area of the resort

You are british right? and used to using public transport right? and possible getting around your city or London right?

If you are then the size of CSR is not a problem. There are bus stops around the resort that can take you to the central check in and food areas. There are also the electric carts that you can hitch a lift from.

We stayed in Cabanas 6 and found that the gentle 15 minute stroll to the market for food or the 8 minute stroll to the themed pool actually added to the vacation and helped offset the pounds gained on the free DDP that we scored on that trip.

We always walked, even in the rain and had a great time. I would say that no room is further away from the central area than a 15 minute stroll. If you can stretch out and leg it, probably 10 minutes.
