Hi there,
My husband and I are planning our next trip to Disney this May 2008 (just got back from POR in Sept 2007). OUr goal is to stay at all of the Moderate resorts at least once and then report back to our inlaws when they come down again.

All of the sections of CSR look lovely and I'm torn as to which section I'd like to stay in. Who has stayed in the different areas and what did you or did you not like about it. I'm not concerned with walking or buses, I'm patient.

we stayed in ranchos

it was clean & quiet, close to the bus & right by a small pool....the rooms were fine....it was all good for us:goodvibes

Hi
We stayed in Cabana's building 8a - it was great for families with children, close to pool and 3 min walk to main building.
Check out Buzz's website , it's the best and helped me immensely when planning our trip. The Casitas section looks beautiful too, I'd love to stay there if it was just DH and I.

Have a wonderful trip!

Depending on what you want to be close to, here are some good building choices.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge (most convenient location and most preferred).

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building (closest to the pool).

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool (and is the old smoking optional building).

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 1 is attached to the main building and is very close to the restaurants.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop #2.

Make your room request as soon as you make your reservation. It’s never too early.

Hey Buzz!
Thanks for the GREAT website, can't wait for your updates after your trip next month. You must be psyched - 9 days to go is it?
I've got 1 year and 2 weeks:sad1:

Very psyched! I haven't been home since 4/2006. That's too long.

Buzz2001 does have a great website.

We stayed in the Ranchos and loved it. We were close to a bus stop, and the quiet pool. We were fairly close to the main pool as well. However, if we had our pick we would probably prefer to stay in one of the Cabanas, for the reasons Buzz gives.

Im not usually concerned about the bus stops (we drive to the parks) nor do I worry about proximity to the food court/restaurant (we usually dont even go to either), so judging solely on aesthetics, I would choose the Casitas.

We stayed in the Cabanas, which were cute, but right across from our building were the Casitas and I remember thinking that I wanted to try them out next time.

Since each section has a bus stop, you are never far from your room. The only problem is if you want to refill a mug on the way back from a park. Then it could be a long walk to the rancho section or you can just get back on a bus or golf cart.

We've stayed at CSR twice, Casitas 2006, Cabanas 2007, a few points

Casitas:

Very convenient to El Centro for meals, shopping, front desk services and cocktails.

Beautiful fountains and courtyards for that after dinner walk! Night time is especially appealing.:thumbsup2

Beautiful lake and sunrise views!:cool2:

Cabanas:

Very close to dig site, pool, pool slide, pool bar & spa.:cool1:

Convenient to ElCentro as well as bus stop 1 & 4

Much more casual and seem to have more rfamilies.

Ranchos (never stayed there):

Very interesting visual landscape (cactus / desert)

Close to dig site etc.

More secluded and quiet

Enjoy:banana:

We stayed in the Cabanas. While they might be a tad more conveniently located between the pool and main building, they were extremely bland, with no atmosphere at all ... compared to the much more lushly themed and landscaped Casitas and Ranchos.

well put! if you are a pool person and plan on time there maybe cabanans or Ranchos- we are not pool people per say, and stayed in casitas. Loved it - it was so serene and relaxing to come back from the park and the hipe and see the water fountains.

We stayed in the Casitas and Cabanas and I preferred the Casitas. They were close to the Dig Site, but also had a nice leisure pool. I thought it was better than the pool at the Cabanas.

We were in Casita 5, which was pretty close to the main pool but a bit of a walk to the main building. We liked it, though. The Casita area is so pretty with lots of fountains.

We walked through the Ranchos and thought those were very nice as well -- very desert like -- sort of Palm Springs-ish. Very secluded and, we thought, quite romantic.

Our least favorite area is the Cabanas -- the building style just isn't that interesting or romantic to us. The style is, I guess, supposed to be a bit Caribbean-like, sort of Cozumel. But, many people like the Cabanas, as the location is convenient to both the main pool and the main building.
