CSR questions: food and connected rooms or jr suite?

We are in the planning stages of a trip to Disney in Oct '04.
My DW does not like CBR (too spread out and very slow
bus service when we stayed there); we both love PO-FQ; and
have stayed in the Manors at POR (always be DL to me.)

We are looking to try something new and the kids are drooling
over the Dig Site pictures on the web. So we are thinking about
CSR. We are taking my folks, who have never been to WDW
so I want a resort that will give them a good idea why the DW
and I go every three years.

Question 1: My dad's eating habits are rather American
(hot dogs, chicken fingers, steak-n-potatoes) I checked out
the menu for the Maya Grill and Pepper Mill and there
seems to be a selection of non-TexMex foods, is my observation
accurate?

Question 2: We would need two rooms, is it better to
go for two standards and try to get ajoined rooms or
the jr suite? The Disney site has the suite rates but not
the room lay outs.

Well, we just stayed at CSR and were really pleased with the resort. We like lots of different types of food and could find pretty much anything at the Pepper Market. DH even had buffalo chicken wings one evenig & they were pretty good!

We got a free upgrade to a Junior Suite and you can see from the pics in my sig line that it is very nice. There are 2 kinds of Jr Suites, 1 with a king bed room and the connecting room with a Murphy bed, and 1 with 2 double beds and a connecting room with a Murphy bed. I'm not sure how many people are in your party so that would really make the decision as far as the room choice.

The Junior Suite was essentially 2 connecting rooms, except that one had the Murphy bed and a desk with chair & fax machine (instead of a table and 2 chairs), 2 wicker chairs for seating near the TV and the TV armoire had shelves instead of drawers.

Depending on the price, I would think that connecting room (2 rooms with the door in-between) would be good if you can get a good rate. If you get adjoining rooms they would just be next to each other but might not have the connecting door.

Hth & please ask if you have any more questions.....BTW-Welcome to the DIS!

I think two connecting rooms would be better because you could probably get them for less money.
Coronado Springs is a pretty large resort, though the lake is not as big as at Caribbean beach if you are put into the Rancho's section it can be a long walk over to the restaurants and shop. However the Dig Site pool is close. The Ranchos are my favorite part of the resort. The Cabana's are sort of inbetween with a medium walk to the main pool and food area. The Casitas are spread out and some are right next to the restaurants and farhter away from the pool. I have stayed in the Rancho's and the Cabanas and enjoyed the Rancho's more for the theme and over all feel and the Cabana's for the location.
The food court has a lot of choices if you don't like Mexican or TexMex. The Maya Grill just changed from some new age fusion food to a Steak place. I love the food court and have not tried the Maya Grill...yet.
Hre is a link to a good website. http://coronado_springs.tripod.com/

I am sure someone else will be in to give you a link to another great website. :)
