I think I need to be considered a resort changer these days, since my DD changes her mind where she wants to stay just about daily....but she's 5 so she gets a pass :thumbsup2 Ok so my CSR question is, what is considered "preferred" at CSR? Is it basically the closest section of Casitas and Cabanas to El Centro? And a sub question....what's your favorite section of CSR? I've always stayed at POR, so we are looking to do something different this time....is CSR a good choice?

Preferred is the closest building of Cabana's to el centro...and also the closest Casitas building to el centro. If you look on the map you will see. Im sure if you google "CSR preferred rooms" you will find the info.

We stayed in Cabanas 8a and LOVED IT! Its literally right across the pool and right by bus stop #4 (which is the 3rd pick up). We never waited more than 5 min for a bus, and NEVER had to stand. EVER. Best bus service ever. Back to the room location, i loved being so close to the pool because you can refill mugs at the pool QS, also you can get food at the bar which is SUPER convenient. My son also loved the fact that the arcade was by the pool too. A lot of fun. No need to go to the main building unless you wanted more food options or if the QS station at the pool was closed. The walk to the main building was very quick btw. Loved that location!

CSR is a very pretty resort. The grounds are gorgeous. Having said all that, I still prefer POR over CSR. I find it much prettier (grounds AND rooms), I find the food court better, and i personally like the pool better at POR too. A bonus: the boat to DTD. loved that.

Preferred buildings at CSR are casitas 1, 2 and 3. Those rooms are close to El Centro and close to the casitas bus stop (which is stop #2, but the first stop picked up and dropped off when going to the parks). We prefer cabanas as a family (closer to the Dig Site pool) - cabana 8A is our favorite.

My kids love CSR - they rank the pool second only to Beach Club. The beds are very comfortable and the bus service is generally great.

The cabanas are not preferred buildings. For 2013, there will be the option to book cabana 9B as a business class room (sort of "club level lite").

The preferred buildings are Casitas 1-3, they are close to El Centro but a bit of a hike to the main pool area. I like the looks of Casitas better with all their fountains, especially at night, but I like the location of Cabanas #9 and #8 because they are located between the main pool and El Centro. Our family really likes CSR, we like the pool area and dig site and they usually have very good bus service. We do prefer POR because of being able to rent a surrey bike or searacer and the boat to DTD, but really enjoy our stay there. Have a great trip.

Yes correct, but I heard thats been going on for a while now. They made 9b into a preferred fancy whatever for quite some time already.

YES! The bike rentals is one of the things i love about POR. My DS12 & I love biking there!

I agree with you about the beauty of casitas but the convenience of cabanas. I was torn prior to my trip but ultimately decided that convenience of the cabanas would be best for us.

Well, 9B has been available for conventions as club level for a while, but it has been available to leisure guests as request only (without the club facilities). And they have done some trials for the club level "lite" back as far as this past spring. But I am unaware of anyone who has been able to book 9B as business class without being associated with a convention. That starts officially in January, as far as I know.

The cabanas are not preferred buildings.

I called today to update our room requests and got confused. So then, I called the resort itself. The CM at CSR with whom I spoke said that 8A was indeed a preferred location.:confused3

8A is not a preferred location unless it changed today. :goodvibes We have stayed in 8A and always request cabanas. We have always paid for a standard room.

9B will be available for booking as a business class room in 2013. If that is well-received, there have been rumors that 9A might also become business class, but there has been no announcement from Disney.

The description of the preferred rooms and the business class rooms are similar - close to main building and convention center - but preferred are casitas 1, 2 and 3 and business class is cabana 9B.

I prefer cabanas and would gladly pay a preferred room rate to guarantee cabanas. That has not been an option - I have had to request cabanas and hope we get it (we always have).

My understanding is the number listed for CSR on your confirmation does not go to the resort itself - it goes to a call center. It is possible the CM that you talked to has never even been to CSR.

Oh dear. The number I called was the one on the first page of this thread, (407) 939-1000.

I guess I'll try back tomorrow. :confused3
