Anyone know how deep the pool is at the base of the Coronado Springs Resort water slide?

Also, is there a height limit on the slide? Will my little ones (4 and 2) be able to ride on our laps?

Are floatation vests available at the resort or should we plan to bring our own?

Thanks! :goodvibes

The water level is somewhere between 3 and 4 feet. I forget exactly what it is.

No height limit in the slide. I rode it quite a few times myself. :thumbsup2

I'm not sure about riding on laps, but you can ask the lifeguard. It would probably be OK with a 2 or 4 year old.

Also, not sure about vests. Our 4 year old niece had her own.

Not sure how deep it is, but I could stand up (I'm 5'6").

Only one rider at a time, so they will not be able to ride on your lap. I don't recall seeing a height requirement. My DS (almost 3 and 40" at the time) rode the slide last trip. One of us waited at the bottom for him. DD5 didn't like it because she didn't like getting water in her face and swimming over to us, but DS had a blast.

There are life vests available right by the pool.

My kids also really enjoyed the playground and slide that are right next to the pool. :goodvibes

Thanks, all! Great info!

Not what I was hoping to hear... :sad2: ...but good to know in advance. (Because it's such a basic slide, I was really hoping we could ride down with the kids...)

You could always ask the lifeguard--no harm in asking. But I believe this is standard at all of the resorts for the slides.

Be sure to check out the "unofficial CSR thread" for great photos of the playground -- it is a terrific one and it's right by the main pool and arcade.

Thanks, Kat! It's actually the "unofficial CSR thread" that sold us on the resort! Such detailed information and great photos! And, yes, the playground looks fabulous! It will be our first trip to Disney, but from everything we've read/seen, we are so totally drawn to CSR!

Our last trip to CSR we asked the lifeguard and they will not allow lap riding. The first few times DW or I would walk up with our DD while the other one waited at the bottom of the slide to catch her.

Thanks, buzznina! How close to the bottom of the slide were you allowed to wait? Could you actually "catch" her...or did she have to swim to you a bit?

(DD swims well, and I'm not at all worried about her safety. She's just slow to warm to new things, and not at all a risk-taker. I'm sure she would love the slide, but I'm just not sure how willing she'll be to give it that first try all on her own...

DS on the other hand, will gladly go down by himself...and will be hard to keep off the slide...but he's young enough that he will need to be "caught"...)

Hoping we'll be able to make the most of such a beautiful and fun pool!

You can get real close to catch them, but I would reccomend a vest for the slippery little buggers. Went the girls were younger we would all walk up together then just have one parent go first then the kids with other parent last. That way we knew they were the next one down.

Hi! We just got back two days ago from the CSR with three kids (7 mos, 6 and 9). Our kids loved the pool and slide!! I think it was 3 1/2 ft at bottom of slide. We went right up to the bottom of the slide to catch our daughter the first few times. (Then after that she was fine) They have life vests that you can use there. We had so much fun there and I'm sure you will too!!:)
