Which would you recommend for a first time visit (there will be three of us, me, DH and our 5 year old daughter)?

Thanks!!

I keep going back and forth but right now I'm thinking CSR.

Probably because I just read a glowing review.

If I go read about POR again right now, I'm sure I'll change my mind again!! Maybe I'll just flip a coin! :confused3

CSR is absolutely beautiful, almost a deluxe in DW opinion. We were there in 2005, when our kids were younger and found it too big for them. POR is a little easier to walk with little ones.

You really can't go wrong with either one. They both have very nice rooms, great pools and play areas and decent food. Bus transportation is good at both places. And they are both big and spread out.

My advice- quit reading reviews- you'll find both good and bad reviews of any resort. Instead, have a good look at the resort threads for each of these resorts. Spend some time looking closely at the resort photos. Then go with the one that has the greater appeal for you.

My vote is POR. We have stayed at both, and while the pool was cool at CSR, POR seemed in the middle of everything and there is a boat to DTD. I loved the Princess and the Frog rooms (very minimal in the mansions) and the feel of the resort.

CSR is more spread out to me and while the walk isn't bad, if you get a room further from the Centre, it could be a hike

Both resorts have multiple stops for buses. I found CSR's bus route confusing. At CSR, the stop off the lobby is the last to load. In theory, the bus could be full before you leave for the park. If your room is a further walk, you can use a bus to be dropped off at the lobby. At POR, I always use the South depot. It is the right outside the gift shop and first to load. Another draw back to CSR is Pepper Market. It is a nice counter service location, but without a dining plan it can get expensive.

Hope I do not confuse the issue, but if your little one does not swim, you may want to consider CBR, which has a nice kiddie pool area and zero entry main pool.

You can't depend on the bus route at POR either. Sometimes the West Depot is the first to pick up and the South (Main) Depot is the last.

I have to agree with Minnie Mum. Both resorts are great! Go look at both of their dedicated threads and see which one appeals to you more. You can't go wrong with either one!

I just had a thought though: If your daughter is into princesses, she may like one of the Royal Rooms at POR. They cost a little bit more, but they are very beautiful and girly.

Can't do
CBR-my husband insists on queen beds. Thanks though!!

Thanks everyone for your thoughts! Gonna sleep on it and decide in the morning!:)

You have a 5YO daughter? Have you seen the royal rooms at POR? AH-mazing.

When this question comes up ( and it does come up often ) I generally ALWAYS say that CSR is my fav. moderate...And list the reasons why....POR to me is just a slight few points behind in my eyes though.. followed by POFQ & waay back is CBR...

But in this instance though I would recommend POR for you , and the fact that you have a DD5 is the reason why.... You won't be disappointed with either....So don't fret about making the right decision... :thumbsup2

I ended up going with POR. I'm sure we will love it!! I was very tempted by the Royal Rooms but I can't justify the extra cost.

Thanks again for all the tips!!:thumbsup2

Don't forget to frequent yeehaw bobs..LoL he's a riot..
