Ok I need advise! We would like to try a different resort. We like the moderates (food court and price). There are 5 of us (3 children - all girls).. I understand you can only stay at CSR or POR to get thr trundle bed. Which one would you recommend? Pool is important as is transportation to and from the parks. THANKS

I hate to say this but POR may be your only option if you want the trundle bed. I don't think they are available any longer at CSR. So see hellokitty, I didn't recommend CSR.

But now that you mention CSR, CSR is a great resort IF you like a mexican theme, great pool and slide, awesome food court and transportation.

Check out my CSR web site below

We prefer PO Riverside. Part of the reason is theming...we live in the Southwest so the theme at CSR doesn't really appeal.

PO Riverside is a nice resort. Food court is great. Pool is nice, plus you can use the pool at FQ since they are sister resorts. It has several quiet pools (we never used them with our son) and a nice playground. It also has a nice size arcade that is bright and clean. The bus transporation has always been good for us and now that they are bringing back the boat to DTD that is an added bonus.

CSR is also a convention hotel and while some don't mind, since I have planned conventions before, I prefer not to be at a convention hotel. Just a personal thing for me.

Here's another vote for POR. It's a beautiful resort. I love to take the boat to DTD, sooo relaxing.

It's just a matter of which theming you prefer. We have chosen to stay at CSR for the first three nights of our trip because of the Southwest theme...it would feel more like we're in another place. We live in KY so the theming of POR is too much like home; southern mansions are all over Lexington, KY....and the rooms look like my bedroom at home! And I personally don't want the "stick furniture" offered in the bayou section. When I showed my girls the pictures of POR they thought it was nice........when I showed them pictures of CSR thier eyes lit up and they got all excited because it's so different than what we see at home.

The girls think we're staying at CSR the intire trip, they will really be surprised when we move to AKL for the last five nights!

I called the resort directly and asked. When I asked if they accomodated 5 the CM said no. When I asked if I could get the rollaway, CM said, "If you pay for the rollaway, you can sleep five."

We stayed at POFQ last October and made sure to get over to Riverside. Boatwrights was not open for lunch, so we didn't get to eat there, but we did spend one of our afternoons at the pool. DD 11 enjoyed it very much. Even DS 3 enjoyed the waterfall part. The boat service (which I understand has just started up again) to DtD is wonderful. (One of the highlights of our trip.)

We can't wait to stay at CSR in December. It is my understanding that the pool slide is great and it also has transportation to Boardwalk.

Good luck with your choice.

You might want to check on the transportation to the Boardwalk, directly. I thought I read where they were discontinuing it from the CSR. So, if you are counting on it being there, be sure to call and check. I could be wrong but better to know for sure than be surprised.

Even though I haven't stayed at CSR yet, I would recommend it!!! I'll be there from May 25 to June 5 with my honey and have seen and heard nothing but great things! The pool is supposed to be one of the best on property and looks like a lot of fun! :) It all really depends on what style theming you like. The Mexican theme appeals to me and looks to be beautiful. I'm sure you can't go wrong with PO-Riverside either. I visited that section when it was Dixie Landings and found it to be very nice. It's a nice walk between Riverside and French Quarter, not to mention the boat ride to Downtown Disney! Really, either one you choose will be great....but I have to put my vote in for CSR....I can't wait to be there!!!! :D Good luck choosing!!!

I seem to recall hearing that the transportation to Boardwalk from CSR was stopped, but I'm thinking that it will be back by the time we go in December. But that's why I'm here reading all that I can about all that goes on at Disney, my home away from home!

I'm counting on it being there, but if it's not that's okay. Magic is magic and the only place to get it is to stay on sight.

is this
Just returned from CSR Sunday. To my disappointment, the bus to the Boardwalk has been discontinued after 6pm.

There has been too many different answers to this question. I will be there in 5 days and will update my site below when I return and also let everyone know if it is going or not. That stinks if it has been eliminated as part of cutbacks

and enjoyed both! However, we really enjoyed the theming at CSR (we were in the Ranchos) and we liked the food court much better than the one at PoR (some people do not because a gratuity is added on; that did not bother us). Kids may also like the pool theme more at CSR; try to find photos of both. You cannot go wrong at either resort! Have fun choosing!

PO RIVERSIDE is just fantastic. They have 6 nice pools including one main pool with a water slide and a bar. If you get a room in the Alligator Bayou Section, you can get an extral pull-out bed for no extra charge but if you get a different section, you can pay $15 a night for the extra bed.

Definitely PO-R Bayou side!!! It is great, especially if you can get close to the main building! The trundle bed is really a nice feature, and instead of only having one sink, like at CSR, you have 2! You will save more staying at PO-R, and you have the option of 2 themed pools... the one at PO-R, which is great and the one at PO-FQ, which has the serpent slide that the kids adore. Plus, you will have the boat transportation to DTD in the evenings, which is great. PO-R is not as spread out as CSR, and in our opinion, has more of that Disney Magic!

My DD and I have stayed at both and would recommend POR-we stayed in the Bayou section last year and just loved it. The landscaping is relaxing and very wooded--so it seems much cooler and more comfortable.
