CSR or POFQ

DH and I are going back to WDW for 3 nights over Labor Day weekend and I can't decide whether to stay at CSR or POFQ. It will be just Dh and I and we are in our 30's.

Which would you choose and why?

Always preferred POFQ over CSR. Just like the New Orleans like atmosphere (but clean) and the compact-ness of the resort. Plus you can get beignets at the food court there!

i have stayed at CSR and POR. when i went for my 50th birthday Port Orleans was the only moderate resort i have never stayed in.. wanted POFQ but it was down for refurbishing so stayed at POR. it was really nice, but i like CSR better...really nice pool. just like the theme better at CSR than PO resorts. JMHO

Well, I'll tell more, we have stayed at POFQ and loved it, but we have never stayed at CSR and I want to try it, just not sure it's the best option when we only have 3 nights. DH wants to stay at POQ because of the boat to DTD

I don't really remember our stay at POR and hated CBR.

Honestly, if we were able to go for more than 3 nights, we would most likely be at BWI.

I would choose POFQ any time. The only reasons I can think of for choosing CSR would be if you prefer to have a table-service restaurant on site and a bigger pool. However, POR has both of those, and is a ten-minute walk from POFQ. You get the perks of a small resort (quiet, intimate, close to amenities, less crowded buses) but are close to big-resort amenities if you want them. Plus, DTD is a short boat ride away.

We prefer CSR simply because we enjoy a larger resort with quiet pools. Also CSR's main pool is much larger and in my opinion better than POFQ's. CSR also has a huge hot tub which is nice.

We enjoy a resort that has lots of grounds to explore and don't mind walking,.

Now, all this said, we do really like POFQ. And you can use the pools over at POR. I think its a lovely resort.

We just prefer a resort that has more than one pool right there.

Having stayed at both, I would choose POFQ if it were just my husband and me. It's very compact (so always a short stroll to your room) and the night time feeling can be quite nice/romantic. The resort does a good job of making it feel as if you are in New Orleans in the evening with the lamps lit, and the sound of the horses hooves as they pull the carriage rides through the resort. Very lovely. There are also many fountains and pretty garden areas around almost every corner. The boat ride to DTD is nice and very relaxing. Also, the POR amenities are a short walk down a path that follows along the river. If you and your husband are pool people, you might consider CSR. The pool is much bigger and more enjoyable. The pool at POFQ is small and can get quite crowded.

I would choose CSR as the theming is more appealing to me and the resort feels more deluxe than others.

Stayed at POFQ the 1st Disney stay, and twice at CSR. As you can guess, I prefer CSR. The rooms have a more deluxe feel, and the resort has more options than POFQ. Love the pool/slide and hot tub too. I found the buses to be WAY better at CSR as well.

I'm going through this debate myself! Actually I started thinking I'd do a value this time but I just didn't find the called me as much as the mods as I love the grounds and the pools etc. Any how we stayed at POR last time and the kids loved it but as I don't think we will ever talk DH into a third trip to DW (was surprised by the second one) I wanted to stay at a different place. Its between CSR and POFQ at this point. I showed DH some pictures of both places and he's leaning towards CSR. Now I think if it was just DH and I POFQ would be the one I would pick but since we have kids I'm leaning towards CSR because of the pool and its slide. Let us know which one you pick.
