We may be getting a two day room only so that means we'll be spending a TON of time at the resort, the pool, downtown Disney or Boardwalk area etc. Which resort would you recommend? It will be me, 8 year old daughter, 6 year old son and 4 year old daughter. They LOVE pools, slides, etc.

I've stayed at CSR before but the kids haven't.....

CBR $289 standard room
CBR $340 pirate room
CSR $298 standard

Which would you choose????

We love CSR! So much so that if I stay at a mod, I can't quite bring myself to stay anywhere else. The rooms are great with very tasteful, modern decor and queen beds. I know that isn't a huge draw for kids, but it was nice for the adults. Also, the pool is among the best on property, mod or deluxe, with an amazing slide. There is also a great playground with the same theme that's part of the pool complex, as well.

+1 from me on that.. If I cant get a DVC ressie for whatever reason, I would be at CSR in a heartbeat..

I've been to both and they each have their pro's and con's. I like the theme better at CBR hate the expanse and bus system at the resort. CSR busing was better we were near the main building but I hated the theme and decor. The room was bigger but it wasn't one of the updated ones when we stayed and it was unbearably hot. I'd choose CBR if I could drive

I guess I will go against the grain and vote for CBR. My reasoning is that, of the two, we have only stayed at CBR and LOVE IT!!! We like the tropical theme and the fact that the resort is spread out. The last time we were there it was during free dining and it was at capacity and we could not tell. The resort never felt like it was full and there is such a laid back relaxed atmosphere that it is such a releif from the craziness of the parks.

The main pool is great and our DS10 loves the slides. There are 2 hot tubs also. The main pool and hot tubs are open 24 hours, though they do close the slides when the lifeguards go off duty.

The food court our favorite of all the ones we've tried on property. The layout is very nice and convenient if everyone in your party wants something different.

We enjoyed the nightly bonfire and marshmallow roasting on the beach along with the poolside movies.

Like CSR, CBR has multiple bus stops so you are never far from one. The entire loop takes about 5 minutes. We have been very happy with the bus service at CBR.

The village that is the farthest from OPR and the Main Pool is Trinidad South. It is under 10 minute walk from the farthest point of Trinidad South. We like Jamaica 45 and that is under 5 minute walk to OPR.

You really can't go wrong with either one. I would look at all the pictures you can and pick the one which themeing is what you like!

I love CSR, so it would be a no brainer for me. I'm sure others who like CBR will have many good reason for picking that one also.

The pool is never crazy busy like CBR, which is a biggie for me. Their main pool is DS favorite of all the mods. They also have a great play area, and kiddie pool. The hottub is large.

With the age of your children, hands down cbr. We stayed here in April and car in early June. If I had older children or if it was adults only I would choose CSR.

We stayed in a pirate room and we LOVED it. The theming was fantastic and while I have heard how excessively far they are from the food court and pool, honestly it was a 7-10 minute maximum walk (with our two year olds). The main fool features 2 slides and zero entry. There is a gated attached kids area with multiple slides, spouts, etc for the under 48" crowd. The food court was just average but it was fine. The grounds were stunning. Our bus service (we were the last stop) was also fine.

CSR is also a gorgeous resort and in my opinion, had better food options. What i didn't like was the main pool. I have read how wonderful it is all over these boards and I just didn't get it. It's a big pool with a pretty pyramid. It's not zero entry but I have heard the slide is quite speedy. The kids area was pitiful. Both resorts have good playgrounds but I give a slight advantage to cbr if that is one of the things you look at.

Hope this helps a bit.

I prefer CBR. We have stayed at both CBR and CSR. I love the tropical theming at CBR. I think the pool was a big factor as it's newer at CBR. I also love the zero entry pool and the kids love the water bucket dumping contraption in the pool area at CBR. I prefer the CBR food court over the one at CSR. I just find CBR a more family friendly atmosphere over CSR, and that's just my opinion which was also influenced by a few trip reports I've read. I would stay at CSR again, as it's very pretty, but I would always choose CBR over CSR. I also like trying new resorts. New resorts, new memories. Have fun!

And honestly one of the things that made CSR a choice for me, was the same that turns some off.. It's a convention resort... So.. you WILL normally see people in 'work clothes' around the resort, but honestly, I didnt see them that much since I was up and outta there pretty early. To some that kills the idea of vacation.. To me, never even thought about it, or if I did I probably thought 'suckers, you have to work and I'm going to play' :D

It also USUALLY meant the buses were less crowded, sure early going to parks and park closing ALL buses are busy.. Also, it SEEMED like the CSR bus stops were 'closer' at many of the parks..

Your kids are 8, 6,and 4 and they love pools. For that alone I would stay at CBR. The main pool area is a kids paradise.

We've only stayed at one moderate and that is the CSR. We'll be back for our 10th stay in December for a surprise trip for my DH for his 60th birthday. We've stayed at CSR with and without our kids. Our oldest son stayed at CBR in 2009 with the baseball team he coached (13 year olds). He said it was fine, but he missed CSR. He said the pool at CBR was way too crowded and they never could find a chair and ended up at the quiet pool all the time.

I vote CSR!

We stayed at CBR in June 2007 & the most recent trip June 2012. Enjoyed our visits both times. We are very comfortable at CBR. I have always received our room/bldg requests at CBR. We have one 11 yr old DS & he loves CBR. The first trip to CBR he was 6 at the time. All the kids at the main pool seem to be having a great time:goodvibes We are always close to the Jamaica bus stop & never had issues with the transportation:thumbsup2 I would like to try CSR someday too

Another vote for Csr. It is a beautiful resort with comfy beds.. My son is also autistic and it was great to have the loudness by the pool but also the ability to retreat to a quiter atmosphere when needed. He also really loved the hammocks and the staff at Csr are very accommodating
