We have decided to go down in late August to take advantage of free dining, but we're stuck between CSR and CBR. It'll be me, DH, DD8, and DS3. Help please...we've been to CSR before and really like it but are interested in trying somewhere different. We're looking for a nice pool and good food selections. We also like to go to DTD a lot if that matters (when it comes to bus service). Thanks!

I know you didnt list them as choices but I think POR or POFQ would be a great choice. You could take the boat to DTD directly from either.

The POR army doesn't need an invitation to invade a thread!!

Between CSR and CBR I would choose CSR. However, I do have to agree with PP. Either POR or POFQ offer easy access to DTD, you get access to both pools since they are sister resorts, and have multiple food options.

We've stayed at both and like both resorts. We have stayed at CSR the last two times mainly because of the Queen beds and Fitness Center. But other than that we would like to go back to CBR. The kids will love the pool at CBR.

Hey ... Just Sayin .... if DTD is a frequent destination is there a better choice for moderates? Between CBR and CSR I'd probably go with CSR.

Just having some fun!:thumbsup2

POR has a large following that seems to find its way into every thread. :)

We stayed at CBR last summer & were planning on it for our upcoming trip. Loved everything about it. I know some feel it's too spread out but it wasn't for us. We were in Martinque. Not a preferred building but right next to one. About a 7 min walk to OPR (food court, gift shop) and the main pool. Two min to our quiet pool. Our kids were 12 & 7 and they LOVED the main pool! There is also a kiddie pool with height restrictions so that would be good for your little one. We ate at the food court often. We loved the tropical feel of the resort. The kids enjoyed playing in the sand & laying in the hammocks. We also took advantage of the marina and rented a boat twice! All that being said, we decided to book CSR for our next trip. Decided to try some place new. BUT! It's going to have a hard time living up to our experience at CBR :)

I'm a big fan of trying something different, so I would suggest CBR. Although I have never stayed at CSR, I have stayed at CBR multiple times and we have loved it every time. The food court has a good selection and there is also a nice grab and go section. The busses were always fine. I believe that the CSR pool slide is the best in terms of length, but my kids loved the CBR pool, much preferring it to the pools at POR and POFQ.

If you have your heart set on just those 2 then I would definitely go with csr.

As pp stated dtd is so close to both POR n POFQ . Personally would go with POR because of the Ts restaurant and multiple pools. But if u are thinking of all 4?

Honestly either of the 4 are fine, but I'd rate them like this: 1st CSR 2nd POR 3rd POFQ 4th CBR...

Heres why?

1st off: Pool . Each resort's main pool is nice, but the POFQ is a lil bit on the kiddish side. CSR nice theming & never ever crowded at all. POR Very nice as well w/ a nice side crowd during all hours. Same w/ CBR. POR's is nice and close to the main bldg, which is very convenient too. CSR a lil far but worth the beautiful walk.

2nd: Rooms. This fairly even for all. It all depends on your taste. I believe all have updated rooms now. I was fortunate to saty in them for POR & CSR. I loved both. POFQ I didn't stay in for more than a day. CBR never stayed inside.

3rd: Food area. I think by far. CSR Pepper Market. Never a wait to be seated. no more than 15 seconds .honestly. Also they bring u the drinks for a really small tip. (not a big deal) All the others were so darn packed & it really discouraged me. I felt like I was back at the values.

4th: Transportation. CSR definetley gets the nod again. Never once did we wait to or from any park or DTD. The fact that its a convention hotel helps. But Both the POR & POFQ have a nice boat ride to DTD. Bad side is the buses there. LOng long wait, especially from HS Fantasmic show. Both buses returning to the resorts from there were a minimum 7 or 8 buses. CBR felt just about average.

5th: Grounds. All are beautiful. POR & CSR stand out IMHO. CBR is spread out and the theming to me doesnt feel like Disney. Plus main Bldg is no where near anything. Check in area. POFQ is very small. Kinda claustraphobic if you ask me.

Lets put it this way: This is Disney, No matter which you choose, they will make it a magical time. This is for sure

In reading you post I see you want something new and CBR is just that. All the choices are good and some are pressing for their favorite.

CBR - great feel - awesome pools - neat food court - only drawback is full beds and if that is not a problem then CBR is a change and something new.

CSR - all it says above and you were there so no selling here.

This is what you asked for is something new so you answered that in CBR.

Now at the bain of saskdw there is the DTD option you asked about and that of course is POR-POFQ(boat to DTD). Also meets the requirement of something new. If you plan on visiting DTD a lot then I would pick POR as you get two resorts in one.

Of the two you asked about I would pick CBR as you stated why! Sooner or later you need to try them all?

Between CBR and CSR, I would choose CBR.

I think the pool at CBR is a better fit for any family with a little one-- zero entry pool and kiddiw water play area with small slides, dump bucket and fully fenced in so no escapies.

Also, because CSR food court has gone to buffet style for breakfast and lunch, I am choosing CBR. Some people love buffets, some, like me really donot like them at all. My opinion, with younger kids you must get up every time they want something else and take turns with spouse so that the kids are left at the table alone.

Also for us, we like to share a breakfast platter and then again share a lunch, so to have to each of us use a full CS credit for breakfast or lunch does not work for the way our family eats. Or often times the kids will eat and all I want is a cup of coffee, and I would not be allowed in the buffet unless paying.

I say give the CBR a try. We stay there all the time and the kids love it. I have never found it too big. We usually stay in Aruba and it is a quick walk to the bus stop as well as a quick walk over the bridge to Old Port Royale. If you have already done CSR and want something new, I think CBR is a great choice. We love the theme and the pools.

Aww man, I never even thought about POR and POFQ....you all were no help at ALL! :goodvibes LOL. They all have their good points. Decisions, decisions. Thanks for all of the great advice :thumbsup2, off to allears to go look at some pictures!

Between CSR and CBR, I'd choose CSR every time for the queen beds, awesome pool, and great bus service. But for your family, POR would be a great choice. The rooms are newly refurbed with queen beds, and your DD might like a Royal room. The boat to DTD is a nice perk - bus service to DTD is not great at any resort.

POFQ is smaller and has only one bus stop, so you might like that. I don't care for the theming and would pick POR over POFQ.

One more thing to consider when on the dining plan... The pool side bar (Siesta's) at CSR has great lunch choices that count as CS credits. We loved being at the park for rope drop, heading back to the resort for lunch by the pool and swimming, dinner ADR, back to the park. We followed this just about every day. In researching POR, (we originally booked a royal guest room) we discovered the pool bar at POR doesn't accept DDP. Deal breaker for us so back to CSR we are going!!

Ok, so we have officially chosen POR and I am soooo excited! Now, where's the best section? Where should I request? Or should we just do Preferred? We've never been to POR and are super hyped to experience a new resort.

Thanks!

Wow you went from CSR and CBR to POR lol. POR is a great resort and when we stayed there we were in Oak Manor. Even though it looks close on the map it seemed like a long walk to me to the food court. If I were going there again I would choose Alligator Bayou preferred section.
