CSR, last week in August???

I had originally booked a 4-night stay at CSR for the 25th-29th of August. Then when I learned the D23 event was starting at CSR on the 29th, I moved my reservation up one week thinking by Wednesday this resort could get very crowded and too busy. Am I right with this thinking? Or not?

We were at POR the last week of August last year and both the resort and the parks had some of the lowest crowds I've ever seen. We have been at WDW during the D23 event in the past and I didn't notice that it had any effect on the crowds.

Disney hotels are often at capacity regardless of the week/time of year. CSR is allocating a portion of the rooms to D23, so the hotel will theoretically be more crowded, but it’s hard to say how much more than if the rooms were just sold as part of regular inventory. Regardless, you probably wouldn’t notice a difference in crowds, and CSR holds conventions at the hotel all the time (they just aren’t widely publicized like the D23 one).

The D23 event will have a non-impact on park crowd levels since most folks are there for the conference, and it won’t be enough folks to have an impact on park crowd level.

The hotels are going to be filled anyway, if not with D23 guests, then others. D23 will keep people out of the parks during the day, as they will be busy attending events. It's probably one of the slowest weeks of the year, I would keep the reservation as is.

Was not worried about the park crowds, just the actual resort crowd levels. I think I made the right choice here with the week prior now.
