CSR Junior Suites

I have a few questions about the CSR Junior Suites.

1. Are they like the ASMu suites in that it doesn't matter how many adults there are? Usually, if there are more than two adults in a room, there is a $10 charge per night for that extra adult. But at ASMu, you can have up to six adults in the suite and there is no extra charge. Is this the same at CSR?

2. Where are the Junior Suites located?

3. Does anyone have pictures of the Junior Suites?

Thanks! It's going to be five of us next year, all adults. I was just checking all the possibilities. ASMu seems nice, but I have a couple in my party who would prefer the MODs over a Value.

CSR has 3 types of suites and they are costly. Jr suite, VIP suite and an executive suite. All the suites are located in the casitas with the exception of two jr suites located in the cabanas, one in 8b and one in 9b. The double bed jr suite would fit six because the wall unit in the second room is a murphy bed. Jr suite is two rooms together, the VIP is three regular rooms together, and the executive is five rooms together.

* The resort has about 30 junior suites, which are basically two connecting standard rooms. The bedroom includes either one king bed or two double beds and the second room is set up as a living room with a sleeper sofa or Murphy (Sico) bed. There are two bathrooms. Junior suites have an occupancy of 4 or 6 people and cost more than 2 standard rooms.

* There are also 10 "VIP" one-bedroom suites. These are equivalent in space to 3 standard rooms knocked together. There is a standard bedroom with one king bed or two double beds, plus a full bath. The living room is equivalent in size to two standard rooms and includes two seating areas, a wet bar with small refrigerator, a full bathroom and a dining table for four people. It has either a sleeper sofa or a Murphy (Sico) bed, bringing the occupancy to 4 or 6 people. The VIP suites are set up primarily for entertaining and are generally used by senior managers staying at the resort for conventions. VIP suites are priced at more than 4 times the cost of a standard room.

* Finally, there are a 6 "Executive" two-bedroom suites. These are equivalent in space to 5 standard rooms knocked together. The first bedroom has a king bed plus a full bath with whirlpool tub. The second bedroom has two double beds plus a full bath. The large living room offers two seating areas, a half-bath, a free-standing wet bar with small refrigerator and a dining table for six people. The living room includes either a sleeper sofa or a Murphy (Sico) bed, bringing the occupancy to 6 people. The Executive suites are set up primarily for entertaining and are generally used by executives staying at the resort for conventions. Executive suites are priced at more than 6 times the cost of a standard room.

Value, Regular, Summer, Peak, Holiday Pricing
Junior Suite and King Junior Suite
$330, $380, $415, $450, $515

VIP 1-Bedroom Suite and King 1-Bedroom Suite

Thanks so much for the replies. I knew Buzz would come through for me.

I'm wondering, though, just why would anyone get a Junior Suite. There appears to be no real advantage. The cost is slightly more than booking two rooms. I mean, if they allowed extra adults in the Junior Suite without making you pay extra, that would make up the difference. But I'm still not clear on whether they do or not.

The main advantage would be a guarantee that the two rooms are together.

If you want your group of 5 at a mod then your choice's are the jr. Suite or 2 rooms you can ask for connecting but connecting is a request and you may not get that.
The extra adult fee is $10 a night per extra adult a night at a value,$15 extra at a mod and $25 extra at a deluxe.

If you want to elimanate the extra adult fee than you may wish to reconcider the Family Suites at All Star Music.

Here is a review from a DIS'ner who stayed in the Family Suites with 4 of her friends.

From this thread post #358:

Back in April of this year we stayed in the Family Suites at ASMu thanks to Linda's lovely advice. We were all very happy and comfortable in them.

It was 5 adults and all of us slept comfortably.

Not quite sure how big the bed in the 1 room is because it didn't feel like a full because it was slightly bigger than a full, but didn't look like a Queen either. :confused3

Anyway, 2 adults fit comfortably in it though.
The 1 adult fits comfortably in the single pull out beds (the chair and ottoman). 2 small children may fit in the chair pull out too.
1-2 adults fit comfortably in the pull out couch which is the size of a full.

I didn't sleep on any of the pull outs. The reports were the chair and couch were very comfortable, but the ottoman wasn't as comfy.
I lied down on the chair pull out bed for awhile and the time I was there it was comfortable and I couldn't feel any bars or springs.

The kitchenette area was wonderful. It has a microwave, mini fridge and coffeemaker. The resort supplies 1 roll of paper towel, plastic eating utensils, a bottle opener/corkscrew, teas and instant coffees (instant coffee that is in the filtered bags already), paper plates and bowls, plastic cups and there was plenty of storage space.

The bathrooms were nice and having 2 was a big plus for 5 females. No fights for bathrooms and shower time. There's plenty of room in the closet/sink area to store luggage and to hang clothes. There was also plenty of drawer space for all 5 of us.

Having the 2 TVs was great too.

The internet connection was in the bedroom (but the connection cord was out in the living room area we later found out).

So we were very satisfied with the room and layout. We didn't feel cramped and were comfortable. There wasn't a lot of noise, no complaints. I think the only one was hearing the bathrooms from the adjoining room in the living room, but if we closed our bathroom door we couldn't hear it.

We were in the Calypso building 10, 3rd floor, Room 656 or 0656 and had a pool view and were VERY close to the food court/front desk/gift shop/bus stops. The laundry and bar by the pool was also very close.

I'll share some pictures in the next post.

So thank you Linda! I hope Disney makes more suites too and I hope they start offering Discounts on them because that to me was the only drawback. :sad1:

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) last Sept. (2006)

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.
I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no metal bar to hurt the sleepers back.

Do you have to pay the extra adult fee for suites at CSR or any other resort or is that fee just for single rooms with more than two adults?

As far as I know only the Family Suites at All Star Music and the DVC rooms that are rented on points do not pay an extra fee for extra adults.
Even the cabins charge a $10 a night extra fee for extra adults.

If anyone has any differing info please let us know.

TIA

I wouldn't mind staying at a Value, but I'm not the problem. There are others in my party concerned about the transportation. How is the bus service in September? I hear stories about lines and lines of people. How bad is it really?

We have a Jr. suite (double is requested) booked at CSR. We debated on the ASMu suites but really wanted to stay at CSR. We stayed at ASMo last year and wanted to try something different. I'm paying extra for the suite (and so far I'm told suites don't get discounts like AAA) but need the guarantee of a connected room. It also ensures our location of Casitas or Cabanas. We were split up last year and it was fine but don't want to do it again. It means we have to save more but it's worth it.

I haven't seen pictures of the suites (they are wonderful) so thank you for posting! Buzz I guess I missed these on your site!

We always have a car so I am not sure about bus service although at ASMo there were always alot of busses coming through.

Without kids we'd probaby just do two room requests and ask for connecting.

I thought the buses were very good when we stayed at All Star Music last September.
Buses run every 10-20 minutes in the morning . Sometimes even more during busy times. We usually had a deicated bus in the morning. The buses were empty when they picked us and then they headed stright to the parks.
We were there 9 days and there was only 1 time that we did share a bus with another resort. Since the bus before us had just pulled out when the new bus showed up our bus only half full. WE continued on to All Star Movies topick up more guests before we continued on to the park.

Bus rides are quite short from the ALL Stars according to PassPorter.com

All Star Buses-CBR buses---POPbuses--PO buses--- Contemporary
MK 20 min---- 20 min-----25 min------10 min---20 min(mono)
Epcot 10 min-- 15 min-----20 min------10 min---15 min
MGM 10 min----12 min-----15 min------15 min---20min
AK 10 min------20min-------15 min----15 min---20 min
DTD 15 min----20 min------20 min-----15 min---35 min

It only takes 10 minutes to get to Epcot, MGM and AK from All Stars.
MK is 20 min away. That's the same amount of time it takes on the monorail from the Contemporary.

A WORD ABOUT BUS SHARING

To me Bus Sharing at the All Stars is really a non issue.

In the mornings during Park opening hours each All Star usually has a dedicated bus.
During mid day it is usually just our stop and maybe one more on the way to the parks. On the way back sometimes it is all 3 but often Sports and Movies share and Music has it's own bus back. Each of the All Stars usually has it's own dedicated bus back from the MK.
That is a big plus. It seems like the Music bus stop usually has the shortest of the three All Star bus lines.

All Star Music is my favorite Disney owned hotel.

Please see my info thread For the reasons why I enjoy All Star Music so much.
