I was planning a trip and thought that CSR would be be good resort to stay at for 3 nights. Is it to much of a bussiness atmosphere? Or is a different resort better for my DS(15) and my DW?

Thank for the help.

We stayed at CSR 2 years ago for a week and didn't even notice any convention people. The pool and slide are great and the whole resort is beautifully landscaped and themed. We stayed in cabanas 9B that trip, but are requesting ranchos 7B this time (June 3-11) for a change. We love the Pepper Market and don't think the 10% they add to your bill is bad. Everything costs more at Disney, so I guess we're used to paying extra down there....Take a surrey bike around the resort and look at all the different areas!!

Welcome to the DIS boards!
You will see that this IS THE PLACE that you can get all the info about Walt Disney World !!
So just keep reading.....and have fun.

Anyway, about CSR........
It happens to be my favorite! Been twice.
Once with DH and DD (8yo at the time). DH did not care for the fact there were a lot of business types. We went in April and there were a few large conventions there at the time. It did not bother me one bit. But DH travels and has to see "business types" all the time. He just felt he wanted to be at a resort where everyone just wore shorts and T's!:p and drinking margaritas by the pool!:p

The second time....last April......was with DD (12 at the time) and older DD, 26 yo. We ALL LOVED it! I felt it was much more relaxing than the other moderates that have more small kids running around. There was a convention there, but we never really noticed them except when they were setting up a dinner/event outside in the large courtyard.

For our next trip this June (it will be me, DD and DH) I was torn between CBR and CSR. It was a toss up since DH will be with us this time, otherwise....it definitely would have been CSR.
We decided on CBR because we haven't been there since June 2002, and they've updated the food court, etc. and.....CBR is just a bit closer to Epcot and MGM.....we always have a car and drive to those 2 parks.

BUT.......there is still time......I may convince DH to try CSR again!!::yes::

Your 15 yo DS will love the pool too at CSR. And he will not have to deal with as many little kids running around!

Anyway, have a GREAT TIME!!

:D

I stayed at the CSR in 2002 and I had also heard that I would see a lot of conventinoneers and that the resort wasn't as family friendly as the others. I'm glad that I didn't listen to those people because I loved the resort. There were several conventions taking place while I was there and I rarely saw any conventioneers except when some of them were eating breakfast. The rest of the time, I saw a lot of families having a great time. The resort is beautiful. I stayed in the Ranchos section and I think it's the best themed section of the three. It's the farthest from El Centro, but it makes for a nice walk in the moning to get breakfast. The only downside to the resort is the Pepper Market system of paying. I didn't like it and I only had a few meals there during my 12 day stay. Have a great time!

Thanks for all the advice it will really help me in planning our trip

I didn't find it business like at all. I found the resort very relaxing and tropical. This resort has more ammenities than the other moderates. They have a health club and salon. The Maya Grill has a great breakfast buffet. The Dig Site Theme pool can't be beat.

Some people say the resort is spread out, but I find it to be no worse than POR or CBR.
Some people don't like that the Pepper Market 10 percent gratuity. You can read about it here:

I personally, don't mind it for the service I've always gotten.
